How Young?
I've been reading on our board of our youth. I also read on Egriz that we should be concerned this year because we beat a "young" team. For those in the know, how young are we in comparison to other teams? How about other teams in the Socon?

Re: How Young?
This team will lose 6 (7 if you count both backs) starters after this season. Defense looses 2 DBs (McCray & Sanders) and 2 LBs (Kimbrough & Grier). Offense looses 2 RBs (Chisholm & Miller). Special Teams loose, punter, Sam Martin.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but off the top of my head, 16 out of 22 2nd stringers are underclassmen, with 6 upperclassmen playing a reserve role...5 Jr's and 1 Sr backing up the 1's. The entire offense outside of 2 RB's and 1 back up WR will return. Coach Jones has been restocking the LB's and DB's so the defense should be ok if there is no attrition. The loss of both Middleton and Blackmon in the secondary could be a blessing in disguise, as several guys will gain quite a bit of experience this year. Both those guys will be vying for starting roles upon their return next season.

Re: How Young?
I am kind of excited that the oldest starter on our O-Line is a Jr. That bodes well for the future...
Give 'em hell!

As moonshine pointed out, it's not like we're putting a team of geriatrics out on the field. We're pretty young ourselves.
I believe you may be correct. My thought was similar to yours regarding slight sour grapes. I feel we are looking at the start of a very good, grounded ASU team. Reminds me of the years starting in 05.
