It will be a Thursday evening game probably starting about 7PM but time not announced yet.
Hope we have some people there with it being a Thursday game. Will be the 2nd game played
in Georgia Southern's newly one sided upper deck and new building in the end zone. Savannah State plays there two weeks before.
Would think ESPN would always want to broadcast this game.

2014 Sun Belt-ESPNU Football Schedule

Wednesday, August 27
Abilene Christian at Georgia State – 6 p.m. CT (ESPNU)

Thursday, August 28
Wake Forest at Louisiana-Monroe – 6 p.m. CT (ESPNU)

Thursday, September 25
Appalachian State at Georgia Southern – TBA (ESPNU)

Friday, October 24
Troy at South Alabama – TBA (ESPNU)

Thursday, October 30
Troy at Georgia Southern – TBA (ESPNU)

Thursday, November 20
Arkansas State at Texas State – 8:30 p.m. CT (ESPNU)

Kind of hate to see Georgia Southern have two Thursday games on national television, if you call ESPNU national television.

A night game in Paulson between App and GSU is going to be electric. Should be a good show for the national audience to see. I am surprised to see the Eagles get two games, but at least we keep all of our Saturday's in Boone.

The 12-day TV window is going to make picking games to attend a crapshoot for those of us who live a few hours away and usually make it a day trip. The standard 3:30 time has been just about perfect.

Oh well, price of progress I guess.

Without FBS our best hope for snagging a game like this would be both teams entering the FCS season pre-season Top 5, with one of us coming off a national championship. Even then, the best we would be hoping for would be a Fox SportSouth broadcast, or CSS, or something of the like. The only negative is that a Thursday evening game, especially one slated for the 'U, makes it a harder decision on whether or not to make the trip down to Statesboro. We had certainly planned on attending if the game were on Saturday. Of course, a Thursday night win at the stink might be a perfect segway into a long weekend at HHI or Jekyll. Hmmm...

If GSU got 2 home ESPN games this year, do you think we get 2 next as part of the SunBelt negotiations?

Next years home schedule is more appealing to ESPN.

I am pumped about this as the APPS will be on national TV and I rarely get to travel to away games anyway.

We could at the price of sacrificing a Saturday gameday. That's how stink was able to get these. They're willing to forfeit their Saturday games for midweek TV games

I hope we don't give up a Saturday in Boone for a TV game.

Amen. I don't care how many eyeballs are on TV on a Thursday night. Saturday football in Boone is king.

Perfect time for a long golf weekend at Hilton Head and stop and see the game on the way. That can replace my Citadel/Wild Dunes golf weekend for this year.

That will be a tough transition for you. The difference between Statesboro and Hilton Head is like the difference between s--t and apple butter.

I think you better go ahead and prepare to be disappointed, then. Midweek games are just part of the package of joining the Sun Belt.

I understand the downside because it will make it much less likely I'll be there in person as well. But, like the unpredictable kickoff times, it's just part of the tradeoff of moving up.

Lived on HHI for 8 years and have been to GaSo for ASU football numerous times. Just view the game as a great excuse to hit the links for a few days. Will do the same thing with South Alabama and the Trent Jones Golf Trail in Mobile in 2015.

Not a good trade in my opinion but you are right we no longer control our schedule.

Just think of it like playoff scheduling year-round. It's the playoffs all the time. :D

Hard to top Wild Dunes, unless it's the Harbor Course! :D
