Following is a post to me from kgfish in the "Southern Miss game" thread ---
I can take a lot, but one thing I won't take is an interloper telling me what I should and should not accept for my university. Don't insult everyone's intelligence attempting to use a play on words. You have never been in favor of moving up making post after post lamenting the loss of the playoffs, ability to win a national championship, national rankings, losing rivalries with SoCon teams and on and on. It's comical you even attempt to take that position.


WV response --- So beware, all you interlopers out there in MMB Land, if you aren't a graduate of Appalachian State University you are in the same class as I --- INTERLOPER ---

It doesn't matter if, like me, you have had season tickets for 15 years, made donations to Yosef, paid tuition for 4 years for your child, attended as many games as possible OR as maybe some of you are - just fans, which is fine by me --- This is kgfish's university and the rest of us non-grads are INTERLOPERS

You guys should cut the interloping and just "elope" already, if you ask me.

Well the part about constant complaining is correct isn't it? It's one thing to state your opinion but over and over and over does get tiresome. And that works for both sides of the aisle. On the other hand I welcome any and all non ASU graduates who want to support our school. We have a few buildings and programs endowed by non graduates. Thank you. Lastly I think is is wrong to post a private message. If he had used racial, sexist, or homophobic slurs or talked about your momma then that would be different.

Looking forward to football season and crowds of 28k+..plus Michael McDonald and Cheryl Crow.

That's what I thought at first, but it wasn't a PM. It's in the Southern Miss Game thread.

Considering that a majority of our own fans don't value our own athletics enough to pull for them over the Tar Heels, I welcome anyone and everyone to our fan base with open arms. Even if their opinion differs from mine.

I fixed the original post ---

This "interloper" who's only been following App for 9 years (since the son enrolled) is thankful for all the folks who have welcomed her into the App family.

No one at either Yosef or the Appalachian Foundation has ever quizzed me on whether the funds I donate came from a job acquired based on a degree earned at a different school (in my case Chapel Hill) since Appalachian as a whole is grateful for the financial support from the community as well as alumni.

I've had the pleasure of sitting at table with folks who strongly oppose or strongly support the Sunbelt move. I've heard some rather lively discussions related to our current athletic director, too. I have my own opinions about both subjects.

At the end of the day, I'll stand firm with my App family - whether I agree with them or not - because they are my family of choice. Y'all shake hands and come out swingin' ... at someone outside the family.

If we had 10k alums that supported App the way Daphne does that KBS expansion thread wouldn't be necessary!!!

Saint, I wish we could get 10,000 alums in the Yosef Club at any level! For the number of alums we have, our participation could be much stronger than it is.

MMB tailgate in the Stadium lot in 91 days whether you like CC and the Sunbelt or not!
