Medical Redshirts Granted

Unread post by firemoose » Tue Jul 15, 2014 9:13 pm

Word has been floating around for a few days but it's official now. DE Ronald Blair and 2014 JUCO CB Jordan Ford have been granted their applied for medical redshirts. This gives Blair two more years and Ford now has three. Ford had one granted by the NJCAA and could have stayed one more year at the JUCO level but still had to receive one from the NCAA. It's up on appstatesports.com so I figured it was safe to post it now. :D

Was hearing Blair would get an extra year during the winter. It's good to see they announced it but I looked at games played and didn't see how he does not get the year. I wasn't sure on Ford so that is good to see. With the extra year you never know as far as the NCAA giving the word. It would not have been surprising to see them give it in November or even if they had a couple months ago. Glad to see we got Blair another year. He, Harkness, Stout, Fernandez, etc. should be a good DL in 2015.

Which is why unless we are 2-10 or worse, that we should have no reason not to expect 7-8 wins in 2015. That team is going to be stacked!
