I know the chances of this are mext to impossible, but June Jones floated an idea on the radio in Tampa the other day about the "Have Not" conferences in FBS, of which APP is a member. His proposal is to move the "have-not" conference football season to Spring, similar to the old USFL season so that there is less competition. Of course we all know where that got the USFL.

Any way, with very little going on right now in the sports world it might be something to ponder and discuss.

There are hundreds of reasons why this would never work. For starters, a school like App would have to begin construction on a dome immediately.

Agreed. There are numerous reasons why it wouldn't work. Just something to discuss.

That's why June Jones is as irrelevant as the defunct USFL.

Rick Neuheisel floated the same idea a couple of months ago on his Sirius/XM college football show.

And give up Fall Football Saturdays in Boone? No chance. I would prefer a move down to D2 before being relegated to Spring football.

As long as we are floating ideas how about this one. How about we cap TV contracts and coaches salaries? Then we wouldn't have to be called" have not's" That would be a way to even the playing field. Take the total money paid by TV and spread it around to all DIV 1 programs kind of like conferences do.

Another reason this can't happen and why we would see so many players transfer from us is the NFL Draft. You have all-star games and players have to train. If we had a NFL prospect on the team he would need to transfer out just to make sure he is free to train and attend workouts as well. Plus, all the other stuff that has been said.
