I posted this on another fan site when a few people noticed that some of the questions being asked would put Coach into a situation where they would not be comfortable in answering specific questions. I've modified it (hopefully) from that site to use on here. Outside of the school name changes, this is a verbatim quote from what I posted.
As much as I would love to ask about ASU's policy on dealing with legal issues, the focus does need to be on continuing to build excitement for Appalachian State's ascension into one of the better performing Collegiate Conferences within the US. As others have said, there is a time and place where the legal issues questions should be asked, however, the last thing I want to do is to put any person (doesn't matter if they're a player, coach, AD or President) into a position for an off-the-wall question that causes discomfort when the situation doesn't call for it. Yes, I want to catch people off guard, however, only to get them away from the typical questions they're asked, so that we can see their creative juices flowing.

I am excited for Appalachian State joining The Sun Belt. I've made no bones that I am a Georgia State fan, however, there were maybe TWO schools within the Sun Belt conference that I've had issues covering (no names). The fact that I have a great working relationship with 95% of the SBC Athletic Department staffers is an incredible bonus, because it affords me the opportunity to be able to bring a different perspective within the entire conference. To be in a position to be an extension of a marketing plan for not only individual schools, but to be an advocate for the conference is an incredible honor that I enjoy greatly.

The last thing I want to do is to bite any hand that affords me these opportunities.

There is a time and place for everything. The legal issues question is not my place to get addressed at this time.
Hopefully you'll understand why I won't ask some of the questions being proposed here.

As far as the Unladen Swallow question, I actually do have a variation of that (first proposed by a Georgia Southern fan, actually) that I've used with coaches going forward. It's an off the wall question, however, a few coaches immediately picked up on the reference.

Keep the questions coming! You've got 70 minutes left. :)

Last year's offense got very little production in the form of rushing yards from the quarterback. Kam Bryant, for example, rushed for 158 yards for the entire season. Has Kam's knee injury healed sufficiently enough that we can assume that number will increase in 2014? If so, give us your realistic prediction as to how many yards you'd expect him to run for.

Dear Satt,

Why don't you live up to your "Always Attack" mantra and throw the damn ball down the field every once in awhile?

Love,

IGgreer

Cutting it off a little bit late, but any questions posted after this post will not make it onto the list of questions being asked. I'll modify this post to include the questions that will be asked shortly.

Expect a post up later today with details on Wednesday's show. Just have to lock down the time of my other guest (Two Cents Radio is a LIVE show on Wednesdays - we only prerecord when our guests are unavailable for a live show).

Thank you, all!

Dumb question. If a team is playing 2 deep safeties, why should we? And who was our deep threat last year after Price was booted?

Agreed. Moronic question.

You don't think that Satt would love to chuck bombs down field? If we had the right personnel and the opposing defense was suspect there is no doubt we'd throw deep.

I hate to call anyone out onto the carpet, especially since I am so new here, however...

IGgreer, I am sorry, but I will not ask your question. Not only is it extremely antagonistic, it borders on trolling. The goal is to introduce not only other Sun Belt fans, but SEC and a few B1G fans to Appalachian State. I've earned a reputation of being easy to work with when it comes to both coaches and SIDs. At the end of the day, I want to help promote a school POSITIVELY. I will not allow a TCR Interview segment to be used to disrespect a coach or a school. As I said at the top of this page, there are appropriate times and places to bring your concerns to the forefront. TCR is not either. :)

APPARJ and EastHallApp, since your questions tie into a segment I want to get into directly, I'm moving it into my Q&A about recruiting, rather than the Fan Interactive segment.
From APPARJ
According to recruiting sites like Rivals and 247Sports, App State did not have a hard time winning recruits from other Sun Belt schools even with a 4-8 record. What do you attribute that to THE MOST? Coaches, facilities, promise of playing time, App State tradition?

From EastHallApp
Considering the move up in competition level, how much do you focus on recruiting for positional need vs. taking the best available talent regardless of position?
Okay, here's a list of Fan Questions that I'll be asking:
From firemoose
How does Coach feel about the new direction for the S & C program and coaches?

From appst89
Last year was not a typical year for App football. Do you believe the lame duck status with no postseason to play for had anything to do with that, and if so, what can the coaching staff do to avoid that same letdown this season?

From MDaniels84
Will we move toward utilizing more "jet" paced offense and try to gas teams late in the game circa 2004-2008?

From moonshine
What was your biggest weakness last year as coach? What has the coaching staff done to improve in the offseason?

From Rekdiver (slightly tweaked to make a little more sense)
Since last year was your first year as Head Coach, what areas did you focus on for improvement within yourself?

From mtnjax
Favorite restaurant in the Boone area?

From PhillyApp1 (Modified from original question)
In terms of "High Octane", excitement and abundant passion, who are the leaders within the coaching staff and players?

From Rekdiver
With the upcoming Michigan game, have you had any contact with Jerry Moore?

What have you communicated to the players about keeping their noses clean and out of trouble?
Have you or anyone discussed the issue of sexual assaults with the team?
What is your discipline policy?
Do you mean to ask these on the radio?

Hopefully redshirting a lot of players, experimenting and not wanting to give away too much to SunBelt coaches.

When do you expect the football stadium to be expanded to 30k+, 35k+ physical seats?

Do you think Charlie Cobb should hire a heavy hitter fund raising specialist for the Yosef Club/Athletics Dept with compensation heavily based on substantial large personal and corporate donors/sponsors?

Just got done interviewing Coach Satterfield. Unfortunately, I was unable to ask him about Jerry Moore (partially because of time constraints).

I will say that y'all should enjoy the interview immensely. I'll have a separate post about tomorrow night's TCR show and when/how you can listen very soon. :)

I guess when Satt was the OC when Fowlkes, Quick, Jackson, etc. were on the team he didn't call those deep ball passes.

You call plays to fit your personnel, welcome to the ignore list IG. I'll miss your cute pics and very clever one liners...

lol...you idiots kill me.

Throwing the ball down field doesn't mean throwing 50 yard hail mary/fly/go/deep post routes every time. I would just like to see some semblance of a vertical passing game every once in awhile. You can have the worst o-line in the country, and still pop a 15 yard pass down the seam now and again.

Screen passes and the overall horizontal passing game are boring and last year especially quite ineffective. Without Price, we still had the talent at receiver to put some pressure on a SoCon secondary. Playcalling was so predictable last year.

Having a playcaller who on 3rd and 8, 3rd and 7, etc that won't call a play where a receiver goes to and beyond the line to gain is too conservative and is not attacking. Give yourself a chance to win.

Clueless.

App averaged over 400 ypg, 270 in the air.

Must not have been predictable to the opponents.

Was certainly predictable to Montana, A&T, Samford and most of the other 5 teams we lost to last year.

Let me know if you need help finding the ignore button. 8-)

I would like to have asked if the team will be wearing the block A helmet into Michigan stadium again, as they should? Or will old Yosef make a national debut?

Bcoach

Not ask them the way I wrote them....But I would have asked this question that sums up all three.

"Coach, with the recent player troubles highlighted at the the "u" how do the staffs at the schools you've been with address these issues with the young men?"
