Especially since 2009, our records in 2010-2012 were very deceiving vs the true strength of our teams on a national level. Look at our performances in the playoffs as true indications of how weak we really were vs the best of FCS. We got man handled and embarrassed vs Villanova, Maine and couldn't handle a weak Illinois St all on our home field.App91 wrote:No i am with you. It is serious how this program has fallen since 2007.

Not a big fan of the way it's written but has a lot of stats, tons of info, and the info he uses to pick order of finish is more accurate than any of the magazines. He's the most credible because he's the best of them. Not saying he is great but it's more accurate than the others and has more work put into it.AtlAppMan wrote:I have never been impressed with Phil Steele's analysis for any level of competition. I honestly am surprised that he retains any credibility over the years based on what I have seen historically from his publications.Phil Steele's magazine has us 10th
There is no doubt this year is a crap shoot for App with all the unknowns. However, I personally will be disappointed if we don't win 5 games. I think it is possible with our schedule that we could get to 6-8 if the team stays healthy. plays to their potential and gets a few breaks. At the same time, if we come out like we did first half of last year and we don't get any breaks (i.e. I challenge NC A&T to punt like they did last year ever again) then we may only see 2-3 wins.
It makes me nervous he has us picked low. I tend to lean more in the middle of where this one has us and he has us. I am expected 6th this year. If we finish 9th or 10th then I'll be very disappointed and feel like we didn't live up to expectations. If we are 4th then I think we are ahead of schedule and have no reason not to be 1st or 2nd in 2015. I was expecting 5th place in our 2nd year so 5th or better this year would be a very pleasant surprise for me.
