Thanks for the offer! My wife is recovering from shoulder surgery but we're still planning on being there. We are staying in an apartment house in Ann Arbor supposedly a 15 minute walk to the stadium. The address is 717 West Huron. I would be interested in a suggestion for drinking and dining for Friday night.

I'm in, and we are going here again for a night before beer binge and wonderful dinner like last time.

My lady and I are planning to be there, as long as she can get a Friday off during the first week of the school year (she is an elementary school teacher). We've got a reservation at the Inn at St. John's, which I hear is about a 15 minute drive from either Ann Arbor or Downtown, but that is subject to change. We'd probably be up for a get-together on Friday evening also. I know that the Alumni office mentioned at the last Alumni Council meeting they were working on possibly having a get-together at a hotel or restaurant on Friday evening, but I've yet to hear any follow-up.

Cannot make the trip to Ann Arbor again, but plan on taking the family to The Hickory Tavern location in Hickory and watching the game again...at the same table that we sat at on Sept 1, 2007 I hope. We enjoyed watching that place explode in celebration and then everyone forming a long convoy up 321 to Boone to watch the celebrations. One of the best days that I will never forget. All of the best people remember where they were on Sept 1, 2007 for the Alltime Upset!

Just went to an excellent bar with the best chimichangas I've ever bad! The drink specials were pretty decent too. The place is called Big Time Burrito. It's on the corner of Church Street and S University.
There's also a few other bars around there, the Brown Jug and the Blue Leprechaun are supposed to be really good and they're right down the street from Big Time Burrito

The bars and restaurants on East University Street and State Street (like Blue Leprechaun and the Brown Jug mentioned above) cater heavily to students. The bars and restaurants on Main Street are more mixed in age. In my opinion most of the restaurants on Main Street are very good, but the number one place to eat is probably Zingerman's Deli in Kerrytown. Below are some of my favorite things in various categories. Hope its helpful.

We won't be making the trip this time (really hard to top the last one ) - Personally I found Ann Arbor to be one of the coolest college towns I have ever seen - On Friday evening driving down the main drag all the restaurants were full with a lot of outside street side tables - Don't know what the status is 7 years later but we and another couple ate at the old train station off the main drag - don't remember the name but it was good and a "neat place" (that's a oldhead term) --- ALSO, at that time the Holiday Inn near the interstate ran buses into the stadium - very, very convenient ---

Zingermans is amazing but definitely expensive ($10+ for a sandwich). Blimpy Burger is closed right now last time I looked. Other, bars that are less geared toward college students are the Jolly Pumpkin, Ann Arbor Brewing Company, and like the poster before me said, the Blue Tractor. And Cottage Inn Pizza is the best Pizza!

I still remember going to Damon's after the game in 2007 with my Dad. Never forget it!

Been scouring their message boards last couple days. Their fan base essentially is saying major blowout, we were 4-8 last year, new coach, no AE (style player), we are no where close to who we were in 2007.

On the surface, all true and I can only hope their coaches and players have the same view point.

But, as I've stated on several threads, I'm really liking what I'm seeing with this team. Still young, yes, but there are going to be some stars born on 8/30 win or lose.

Veteran O-Line, with really good depth, solid RB core, probably 8 WRs to travel (at least 1 freshman will have huge day), and a D that is primed and ready. S&C program will shine through in this game and rest of SBC slate.
