We now will have to go undefeated in the SloCon to win a share of the title, the coaches are going to have their hands full after this one.

You have to be undefeated like UNCC to be ready for FBS.

Anyone who uses a single loss (or win for that matter) as a justification against (or for) FBS is a giant freakin' toolbag. That is all.

Its not a single loss though. Its ECU, Va Tech, Wofford, Maine, Citadel, and Furman all over the last 2 years. Recently this program is FAR from dominating the level its at, much less being prepared for the next. In the what have you done for me lately mentality of College athletics, our football program is FAR from being ready to succeed anytime soon at the FBS level. (Not that im pro FBS or anti FBS, just making an observation based on the current state of the program)

Wait, you mean teams occasionally lose games?!

Well I'll be..and here I thought Jerry had a controller in his hand and was gaming like Tecmo Bowl.
I'm not a coaching apologist by any means. I've offered my fair share of criticism, and hell, after tonight's game everyone associated with App football should be hearing the jeers.
But to say ASU hasn't dominated is absurd. Since 2000 the Mountaineers are 120-42 (.745). I'd wager 90% of programs would kill for that sort of record and winning percentage. Not to mention the championships, the attendance..
If some of you folks want to go all Jim Jones and sip the kool aid, knock yourselves out, but at least strive for that moment of clarity beforehand..

The bigger question is are able to succeed on the FCS level.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. According to some (not necessarily you), as long as we're FCS it's nothing but smooth sailing. How stupid of me.

Attendance looked great today midway through the second quarter.

And I could careless about whats happened since 2000, cause we didnt try to move up then. In the last 3 years, is this a program ready to move up right now. No it is not.
And success is not a given at any level.
I am actually pro-FBS if done right. However we have alot of problems that need to be fixed first.

Damn right it's not me. I'm pro FBS.

Although with all the chain yanking that's gone on over the past year with all the invite news I'm altogether ambivalent. I just want to win games at whatever level we play.

I've never made apologies for our fans either.

We have some awful fans at times. Fairweather and bandwagon to the extreme. I've said it plenty of times and will continue to do so.
Definitely a big middle finger to all those who bailed early.

So if someone disagrees with you they are afreakin toolbag? Classy post. Didn't say i don't want to move up, just saying maine, citadel, vt, ecu and others makes one feel less ready.
Again, thanks for the name calling...

Ah, just expect better from you dude than swinging for the low hanging fruit. That's the kind of mindless reaction I'd expect to read on AppFan.

Getting back to the title of the thread. I seemed to have picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue.
As much as I hate the beat-down we took, what really gets me is the blocked punt... for a TD. I think I could have even handled a blocked punt, but to then score.

After today's game I'm seriously thinking about taking up drinking!!!!
Heavy meds also don't sound like a bad idea either.

Did I miss a reference here or is there a separate bombing of Pearl Harbor that I am not yet aware of?

Ah! I figured there had to be more to it. Truthfully, it did come out before my time. I do; however, have it in my library and have enjoyed many a laugh. Didn't remember that particular quote, but my favorite is that "he's damned glad to meet ya"

My favorite part is when Brother Bluto busted up the guitar.
