Gameday Chat?

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Sat Aug 30, 2014 9:55 am

For those of us not in Ann Arbor, are we doing a Gameday Chat?
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

I'll probably be at the Applebees in Lexington so if they have Wifi I might be on.

I don't like the pass play calling right now. Too short and conservative. And the backs giving too much room to receivers. Both o ab d lines playing well.

Come on pass D? Run D Is good but dang! By the way the last M DT was a pick play ....no call. Every pass by Cam is lacking zip.

This is the worst secondary we've had in the last decade. Run D had been playing well.

Correction......PASS offense looks horrible. We are actually running very effectively. Bryant is a deer in headlights.....zero pocket presence happy feet, no zip on the ball. Rush D and the Dline specifically looks strong.......DB are playing very conservative.

Kam doesn't have the zip to run these quick outside to the sideline passes. If he wants to run anything quickly, try the slants to the inside on the press coverage. Good news is the D-Line is hanging in there for the most part. The secondary is young and trying to cover someone many consider the top TE prospect in all of college football.

This game so far is exactly why I hate camp reports. You really don't know what you got until you play somebody. We have found out we are a long way from being FBS ready. It's not that we are losing, its that we can't do anything offensively. Our DBs are going to get destroyed in the pass happy SBC.

We're a young team, and it's going to show this year.

We're not going to face a better OL or DL than we're facing today. The rush defense has looked strong, but the depth is just too much...unlike last time Michigan is continuing to run it down our throat which will wear out our young team.

I'm concerned about what I'm seeing out of John Law...he seems completely disinterested...

Outside of QB and DB's we can be highly competitive in the SBC. Both are lines are holding their own against Big10 fronts which I never thought we could do. Also surprisingly the LBs are lost and out of position.

I think we can get a lot better and believe we will be better but yes this team has not looked good. I figured we would lose by about 21-28 but we look even worse than I expected. It's 35-0 and we may lose by 50 or more at this rate.

We had some crazy fans on here who thought we could really win this game.

One positive is our RBs are pretty good and we have some speed but not enough of it and our defense just isn't very good. The play calling is bad. I want to know who is calling our plays! I'm sick and tired of not knowing. It's time someone on this staff steps up and admits to it. If i is a committee then I want the committee shut down and I want to see ONE person calling them.

I want to see if we make adjustments before I completely trash this effort but so far we aren't ready for FBS. Kam Bryant doesn't have the arm to beat good FBS teams. It's way too early to say the sky is falling and we are done and this staff needs to get fired but the start is not good. Let's hope this staff has adjustments and this team is mentally ready enough to bounce back. There is some talent on this team. We just need more of it to compete with top 40-50 FBS caliber teams.

One big positive so far is that we aren't seeing a ton of injuries. It is still early but so far I think the new S&C coach has already shown to have improved us in that category.

As for the daily reports on our website, they aren't informative at all. I don't even watch them because they really don't tell much and aren't done by someone like Steve Brown who really knows what he is looking at and will tell the truth. That's why I like Steve Brown because he knows when things aren't good and calls it like it is.

I hope Satt lets Lamb come out and try and move this offense. Ive seen enough of Bryant this year and last and a game manager isnt going to win big games. He would be a good QB to lead us to win when we out talent people but he will NEVER go out and WIN a game. He wont put a team on his back and will them to win.

Law has looked awful. The 2nd best team we face this year is ULL. I think ULM, ULL, and Arkansas State are definite losses but even with what we are seeing today we can hang with or beat the rest. The Sun Belt is pretty bad outside the top 3 or 4. Georgia State only beat ACU by one point. ACU is a middle of the road team in the Southland.
