Terrence Upshaw
He deserves a thread. I really was pleased with what I saw from him yesterday - averaged 6.1 yards per carry against one of the best defenses in the Big 10.
Gonna be a special back at App State.

Re: Terrence Upshaw
He looked really good. BTW, our Apps didn't commit ANY turnovers yesterday... That is a huge positive to take away from yesterday's game.

Great point. Penalties were a bit troubling, but they can be cleaned up. Hopefully.YesAppCan wrote:He looked really good. BTW, our Apps didn't commit ANY turnovers yesterday... That is a huge positive to take away from yesterday's game.

Re: Terrence Upshaw
Between Upshaw and Cox, that is one position we don't need to worry about for a while. I thought I heard him say in the post game that they are roommates and good friends too. Another plus.

Upshaw and Cox, something we have missed since the Championship years is a strong run game. With these two we should have the start of something special on Offense that last for 3 years with them together.

Re: Terrence Upshaw
Upshaw runs with purpose! First guy doesn't take him down and he seems to fall forward. He's the perfect complimentary back to Cox. These 2 have all the makings of being special for App. Gotta tip your cap to the OL for opening some lanes too.

Great thread, well deserved ?
We have a couple of guys redshirted that are highly thought of as well, that is a position a strength.

I agree, but we need to get a passing game to match.APPSTATE-H3 wrote:Upshaw and Cox, something we have missed since the Championship years is a strong run game. With these two we should have the start of something special on Offense that last for 3 years with them together.
BLACK SATURDAY
Re: Terrence Upshaw
Great thread. Very excited about Upshaw. He hits that hole quickly and runs hard! Great blend of quickness, power, shiftiness. The o-line did a nice job run-blocking. I like the quick hitter that gets the back through and upfield for positive yardage. We're in great shape with he & Cox for the next few years!

With their running ability I think it will open up the passing. The linebackers will have to respect the run.

Re: Terrence Upshaw
Upshaw looked very good carrying the ball yesterday. I still can't figure out why we completely abandoned the run in favor of the short passes that weren't open anyways. That also played right into the strength of their D. The OL was doing a good job in run blocking as well.
