I thought that one had to pay separately for ESPN3. Last night I told my 9 year old that the game was on ESPN3 internet, but I would have to pay for it separately but he begged me to try it anyway. I went to the site just to find out how much it would cost even though the first quarter was almost over. When I clicked on it, it just asked me for my DISH screen name and password. The broadcast popped on complete with Mickey Mouth flapping his gums, but at that point, I didn't mind. The clarity was surprisingly just fine.
Was this a fluke or does ESPN3 come with the top 200 DISH option? I tried to call DISH but got a Pakistani on the line whose broken English I couldn't understand and certainly didn't want to go through the seemingly endless menu again.

ESPN3 doesn't cost extra. You do have to an internet provider that includes it. Some, like Century Link, do not.

I have Fios, and have gotten ESPN3 free for a long time. Because it's just my Internet carrier, and not my cable provider (I have DirecTV), I can't get anything that is airing live on the ESPN cable networks. I have used ESPN3 for years to see G5 and FCS games I normally wouldn't be able to see. It's great, and one of the perks we now enjoy as members of the SBC.

A lot of ESPN can be viewed on line. I think I have this correct.

ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPNNews are tied to having cable TV, and having these channels as part of your cable TV lineup. I am not sure if the cable TV provider also pays a bit extra to make thee channels available online. I imagine they do pay a few pennies more to make the online access available.

ESPN3 is an internet channel and paid for my your ISP or not. Most ISPs carry this.

Many have the same carrier for both cable TV and internet so using a computer and web browser approach to watching any ESPN events blends together. I will be dropping cable in a few days. I lose ESPN but I should keep the ESPN3 only access since I am keeping the internet.

Just another comment about viewing the game on ESPN3. Not only do you get to hear some pretty interesting "facts" from the commentators, but also if enough people view it online it may help build interest for APP games on ESPN.

Since you can watch reruns, I'm going play every rerun on my computer whether I watch it or not just to build the watch count. I may even do it a few times.

It was funny even in replay it took time for commerical break but didn't show any.

I'd just like to see the "hit count" go much higher than expected. I might just play on random computers I get on!
