Gotta be the worst in years. I am all for intro'ing the starters, but it took sooooo long, then a 3 second clip of hype and here they come. Gotta be a better solution than this.

Is there anything else this board would like to complain about while we're at it?
Jeez, ya'll need to just chill the eff out with the complaints. The video staff busts their tails, i'm sure, to provide that stuff and all we can do is just kick them in the nuts

A message board is a place for fans to come and talk about what's on their minds.

Without knowing a dang thing about what is going on.
Jake left over the summer for Louisville as well as another person (I can't recall right now) within the promotions area. Literally students are on this right now and it is a lot to get them (Vids) done WELL! Instead of throwing up not quality products they are working to make sure the ones that go up are quality. I am sure it meant something to the players families and friends to see them on the big screen.
The quality promo videos will likely be back soon.
Plus......Would we rather the video staff be working on coaches film or production.....I know....both....but dang we sure looked good on the field with the adjustments from week one.

The intro video they play on the big screen that introduces the players isn't made by the same people who make the pregame motivational video that we see on YouTube before kickoff.
I'm not sure who makes the player intros, but I haven't noticed much if any decline in the two motivational videos that they've released this season after Jake left. While Jake was the brains behind the operation for a decade, the people who actually made those videos are video production students. Those kids are just as good now even with Jake at Louisville.
The video staff (the one that makes the motos, not the intro) is divided into two halves: production and game film. The former shoots and edits the motivational, while the others shoot practices from four different angles, cut and organize the clips, and disperses them to the appropriate coaches.

Would love to hear this song played in the stadium:
Sweet Appalachia by The Del McCoury Band
Check it out

In case any members of the video staff at App State have unfortunately stumbled on this ridiculous thread:
Video Team,
You guys do a PHENOMENAL job. Please remember you can't make everyone happy. There is no truer evidence of that than some of the people that post here daily.
Keep up the good work. While Jake was/is amazing at what he does, I'm proud to share all of the content you guys produce and look forward to new videos every week.
Again, pay no attention to what is said here. While there are many instances of thoughtful discussion on MMB, some people like to complain if what they see/hear doesn't fit in their little box of personal preference.
Thanks for your work! It is some of the best in the country and it makes our football program even better.

No, do pay attention to what is said on here. Not being overly critical, I am the one who started it. Not trying to make anyone mad, just constructive criticism. Man, if you do not have that how do you get better? Players look at film after every practice and game. In my job I get a weekly report card called sales numbers, I like to look at the bottom line moving forward. This is at the bottom of my business email:
“It’s not the will to win that matters – everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.”

Would you find it constructive if your sales report this week said "your performance in August has gotta be the worst in years" ??

Maybe my post was too long for some of you to read. Here's the quick version:
What you know as the video staff (Jake Stroot etc) does NOT make the player intro video (Kam Bryant, Quarter Back, Number five).

Thanks for clarifying what I was trying to say.

Gonzo....I think part of what I was/am trying to say the content comes from the same folks as it is shared....and sometimes whole clips and videos are used on Saturday in KBS....So sometimes the motivational video and the video we all see have the same content.
The fact that WE/ASU is running this on the talent of students and they are that talented and work that much because they love what they do is amazing to me!

Numbers don't lie, but yes, that is constructive IMO. I am a bottom line kind of person, I did not care for the video, those around me were disappointed, I voiced my disappointment here on a message board, Sue me.
No EC, NO Welcome to the rock, just the guy with the hairy back! We Can do better!
Does that make you FEEL better RJ?

Maybe I was in an alternate universe, but I believe Connery did say "welcome to the rock" on Saturday just before the fireworks & team taking the field... The only beef I had with the gameday production was the blaring of a Luke Bryan song (My Kind of Night) during one of the extended timeouts. While a great song, Luke is a Ga Southern Alumni. No place for that in KBS.
If the Band isn't going to play and we are going to pipe in music, I think we stick to our own with Eric Church while mixing in some AC/DC, Bama's "Mountain Music", etc. Aside from the Luke Bryan song, I will say I found the music selection to be a big improvement over prior years.

LOL! I get it. Because you're a "bottom line" kinda guy in sales and I objected to your ridiculous complaint, I must be "touchy FEELY."
Don't worry, I won't sue. Instead, I'll not count your opinion as high now that I see what you deem as low quality.
By the way, there absolutely was a "Welcome to the Rock!" in the video. It looks like Sean Connery hasn't aged a day since last season.
So before you start whining about wasn't in the video - try watching it first.

Must have missed the SC appearance, but think that helps my point, bad timing. (I turned to watch the field when the gun and fireworks went off)
Yes, RJ, I hate touchy-feely, not really concerned where you hold my opinion as long as you don't sign my paycheck or sleep in my bed.
This is not the first entrance video thread, we have had them on here before, they have changed through the years. Remember some not liking the long EC one (I did). I was not trying to disparage anyone's work or hurt feelings (RJ) but to point out we have done better.
Is everyone now happier with that?

Why are you implying that I have hurt feelings? I didn't make the video and don't know anyone personally who did. Why would I be the least bit offended? That's strange.
My only point in initially responding to was to let the video staff know their work isn't bad because one person was halfway paying attention.
As for missing Sean Connery helping your point. How? He always says "Welcome to the Rock" BEFORE the fireworks go off. On second thought, it really doesn't matter. The Sean Connery clip happened the same way it's happened for the last decade or so (except for last season when the removed Sean Connery for a game or two in favor of... Eric Church

)
Side note... why do you keep referring to me as RJ? Not offended (because it doesn't matter) but it's confusing.

Love the lines -
" Some people call me hillbilly"
" Some people call me mountain man"
" You can call me Appalachia"
" Appalachia's what I am........."
