Campbell played the required number of players on every down as did we the week before at Michigan. In other words neither week did we play or play against shadows.

QB: While it is hard to tell about the drops at WR our targets were open, the passes were crisp, and we targeted a variety of players.....including the TE.

RB: Overall stellar effort. I think we are as deep as we have been in a while at RB....all the way through Davidson. I am not sure Ferguson is a one back set kind of RB but hey....what do I know.

OL: Better than advertised....got a lot to learn and work on but I like the effort and the hustle down field on pass catches and runs.

TE: Gotta like the effort and pass catching ability.

WR: Still dropping too many balls. But you know the talent is there with the circus catches they do have....and the pattern running is above our previous standards.

FG: Solid

Punting: Has not really settled in yet....but Critcher was really good last year.

Kickoff: with virtually no wind we kick to the 5 then one of the endzone....hence the short "chop" kick at the end of the game.

DL: I am going to break this one up:
DE: solid and nothing to write home about
NG: This crowd can play....and I like the numbers and rotation.

LB: Got to get some quality playing time depth and work on pass drops....love their hustle, filling the funnel on runs and hitting ability.

CB: Scary.....they might be good or they might just be average. They like to hit but man I would really like to see some over the top coverage out of them.....we were lucky to not give up lots of yardage and a couple of scores Saturday.

Kick return: No Opinion
Punt return: Bobo do not get hurt

Offensive Coaching: I can't wait to see the offense use a designed QB run. Lots of "things" going to have to open up if we are to be successful over the next 6 weeks.

Defensive Coaching: IMO....we have played very well the first two weeks. Saturday was the most complete defensive game since Delaware in "07. We played hard all night....

Intangibles: We have got to cut down on the celebration penalties whatever they were. I am not sure what they were because I just saw kids having fun. I was not concerned only to see a flag thrown. Hey officials...scoring a defensive touchdown is a big deal...how about some fun. If those were Sunbelt officials, I am not sure they were an upgrade.

Crowd: argue 25K or not.....I thought we did an OK job given the game was over early!

McElfresh really is a great little receiver. He manages to find the open spaces in the defense and has tremendous hands.

Upshaw is going to be special. He has tremendous burst, power and runs with authority.

They were Sun Belt officials... The head ref came from the AFL

The play calling was good.

We used a two-tight end set in what looked like an obvious running situation, only to pass for a first down.

We used Sumler as a decoy on crossing routes that drew what looked like three defenders, freeing McElfresh for his two long TD receptions.

We had a semi-trick play called on our first offensive play but switched out of it because we didn't have enough room to maneuver. We ran the play successfully later in the game.

I don't mind the celebration penalties has much given the control we had on the game. Like you, I think they were just having a little fun (OMG fun in a FB game, can't have that) and I think they needed that. I did see a few dumb penalties in game 1 & 2 that we need to watch however in closer games. Not bad but some that could have been avoided.

No typo...he was an official in the Arena Football League....They were talking about him on ESPN3 in the second half.

Article is a few years old. But they did say on ESPN that Kevin Stine came from the AFL. I do think they did a good job the other night.

After a couple TD's they called them. I think one was 10 yards on the extra point and the other was 10 on the kickoff. I didn't know that the team had the choice, I guess Mike Minter has been reading up. It does seem more effective on the kickoff because some say it actually helps on the extra point.

Honestly I haven't got a clue. One was on a wide open passed to McFresh....and one on the interception return for TD.

The "Official" described it as a choreographed demonstration.

I'm waiting for them to come up with a penalty called "Having fun while playing". I'm sure you'd have to sit out at least one play with a frown on your face.

If the players would just celebrate towards the sidelinesit is not a penalty

Unless I missed something, I think the penalty for the Pick Six was because the player ran through the end zone and engaged the student section in the end zone seating. I don't think that should be a penalty. In my opinion, it should only be a penalty if it is directed toward the other team or the other teams fans.

Hey, after all of the years of Armanti doing flips in the endzone and Brian Quick dunking over the goal post, the ones on Saturday night seemed kind of subdued.

I posted in another thread that these celebration penalties must be an area of emphasis for CFB. I saw alot of those this weekend, especially after our game when I began to notice. They sure seemed to all be pretty petty.

What is wrong with simply handing the ball to the nearest official and then running back to the huddle or the sideline joining the team mates?

AE flipped one time. Saw the effect it had on the game apologized and never did it again.

I think you should act like you've been there before. The celebrations seemed a little bit over the top given we were stomping the piss out of a weak team but that's just me.

The celebration penalties were on Upshaw on the pick six for leaving the sideline and on another TD for Lamm and Collins together. I don't know what they did.

I saw an interview with an anonymous ref saying the areas of emphasis this year were celebration (once again) and personnel leaving the sidelines during plays.
