Just curious, did anyone at the game see Chancellor Evert? I ask this because when Peacock attended his first game, instead hiding in the Chancellor box, he was walking the sidelines, shaking hands, and giving the impression he was very happy to be at the game, and was proud to be the leader of the University, it was great move on his part, almost immediately he endeared himself to the fans, and proved to be a great catalyst to the start of his tenor. I was just wondering if she was smart enough to follow his lead or did she stay in the Chancellor box, or maybe didn't attend at all? Thanks

She was there during the half-time introduction of Athletics Hall of Fame inductees. I can't speak to her interactions with students/fans before, during or after the game.

She marched in at the front of the band waving as she passed the student sections.

I have watched Chancellor Everts interact with students in fine fashion. She is very approachable and interested in the students. She spent the bulk of the Michigan game in the stands thanking people for making the trip and making a special effort to find App students in the group.
I would imagine her very first home game as chancellor required her presence in the chancellor's box simply to entertain "distinguished" guests. She is not the sort to hide away and separate herself from the students or "ordinary" folks. On the contrary, it seems she is working diligently to learn the people who make up the Appalachian family.
I believe Appalachian is in good hand with Chancellor Everts at the helm.

We also have to consider that KP had been a professor on campus for two decades. He was well versed in the culture of the town and the university, and people already knew him. She needs time to adjust and find her way. Be patient.

I was impressed that she marched in with the band and stayed down on the sidelines while the band did their warm up and played the fight song. She needs to do her own thing and not try and copy the exact same things that Ken Peacock did.

I was thinking the same thing, plus it is important to kept the "special" fans happy and shake a few hands. We may not ever see her "crowd surf" either (that was my fav from KP) but hopefully approachable and involved (as most of our Professors are).
I was telling my kids this weekend that the one thing that makes APP different than a lot of other schools is that students do have tight relationships with professors.

Its good to hear that she is out and about and making herself available to the students and the fans, like it or not, its very important for a Chancellor to have atleast alittle "politician" in their makeup, goes with the job.
