App vs Southern Mississppi Prediction
App by three touchdowns (or two TD's and a FG) even though it's a road game. Kam and Taylor will both play with, of course, Kam starting. Southern will score first.

Re: App vs Southern Mississppi Prediction
Lamb ends up getting more snaps as Southern Miss stacks the box to stop the 2 headed monster UpCox and don't respect Kams arm. Lamb comes in and backs the safeties up and we pull away late, 35-24. UpCox combines for 225 yards from scrimmage.AAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Currently Upshaw (6.8 to 5.2) is averaging 1.6 more yards per carry......so the name changes if Cox gets on top.

BigC has been doing great with his prediction thread for a long, long time on MMB.
Y'all save the comments for HIS thread on Wednesdays.

Then BigC's prediction thread can easily supplant this thread tomorrow.

I always enjoy reading Charles' perspective on the game and appreciate the time and effort he puts into it. But it seems to me, we should be able to discuss and predict the outcome before Wednesday rolls around.

You have been around longer than 98% of the folks here, it's never been done this way in the past.
Getting to be too many young guns for me.
Time to move on.

Re: App vs Southern Mississppi Prediction
almost impossible to predict this game since we don't know alot about our own team, let alone SMU, but one stat that's in our favor, Alcorn St ran for 295 yds averaged 9.2 yds per carry, if they can run all over SMU, got to think Upshaw and Cox will have a field day.

Interesting how some folks preach tradition but then don't want to follow it. Obviously, folks are free to discuss whatever they wish, whenever they wish, but I see no need to jump the gun. Big C puts a lot of research into his work but if folks are going to start multiple prediction threads it becomes a very repetitive, unfocused discussion.

We get a lot of that around here. Looking forward to BigC's writeup tomorrow and GAS's N.P.hapapp wrote:Interesting how some folks preach tradition but then don't want to follow it. Then as I and some others have said multiple times on this MMB, any time you see JCline or NewApp, just skip the thread or post.hapapp wrote:Interesting how some folks preach tradition but then don't want to follow it. BTW, I don't "preach" tradition, rather there are certain traditions to which I adhere and others that I don't. I love certain innovations, but others I don't care for. I doubt that I am the only single one who has similar preferences.

Re: App vs Southern Mississppi Prediction
The reason 'it's never been done this way in the past' against doing something different, is quite possibly the worst supporting argument/reason. Why can't we discuss the game when we want?Black Saturday wrote:NewApp wrote:Then BigC's prediction thread can easily supplant this thread tomorrow.

We can continue to recognize Big C's threads as the Official predidtion thread.

The fact that even a prediction thread can produce whining makes my head hurt.ASU-FTW wrote:The reason 'it's never been done this way in the past' against doing something different, is quite possibly the worst supporting argument/reason. BTW - If our D plays well and our RBs and OL continue what they've been doing - I think App State wins this game.
That prediction was for all of the curmudgeons who are complaining about "jumping the gun" before the magical Wednesday.
I'll also post on BigC's thread. Why? Because this is a freaking message board.

Re: App vs Southern Mississppi Prediction
It's easy to discuss the game without starting a prediction thread. Perhaps talk about how USM doesn't appear to have a great run defense. Maybe discuss the USM wideout vs. ASU DB matchup. But to call it a prediction thread? That's kinda low class.
Sometimes I think Cline just tries to stir the pot and make people dislike him. Maybe he likes the attention, regardless of positive or negative. It's worked.

Of course, he can post what he wants as long as it's within the rules, but that was my thought as soon as I saw the title of this thread.
