Re: [New Article]Official Normalites prediction thread
It seems to me the key will be our ability to stop their passing game. They have at least three guys 6"3" or taller. USM is a team that averages 200 yards a game passing, so our young and somewhat inexperienced secondary will have to be up the task.
Re: [New Article]Official Normalites prediction thread
Forget the talk that our real season begins next week. This is a big game for ASU to seek a win and some confidence before tough games against Ga Southern and South Al. It will be interesting to see how we match up on the road against FBS competition. Our offense needs to keep our defense off the field as it will be hot - even at night. Leaving early Saturday morning to head to the game!

I think this game simply comes down to who does the most with their Red Zone opportunities. I expect the game comes down to a late score either way.

I'm still not convinced our defense is up to the task. Without predicting a score, I do believe the game will be decided one way or another by a FG.

Re: [New Article]Official Normalites prediction thread
From what I've read this will be a tight game. SM has home field advantage, so they may score early, but their weak running game will hinder them in the red zone. A strong kicking game may give them multiple fieldgoals. App's defense will get stronger as the game progresses, keeping SM from frequent visits to the endzone. App's offense will keep its defense fresh and will make several trips to the endzone. Advantage to App:

I still believe our running game will be very effective against USM, however, our defense's ability to get off the field will surely be key. IMO, the old "bend don't break" theory won't cut it in a throw-happy league.

starting to get nervous, I hope my wife doesn't want any stimulating conversation when we go out for dinner, plan to spend the evening staring at my phone.

Not sure what to expect for this game. Our defense will be tested i think. Hopefully they will step up to the challenge.
