The more I see the black A on the helmets on tv, the more I desperately want the white block A back. You can barely see the black A on tv. The school wants branding and they aren't using their most visible product to showcase the A which pops better, and you can actually see it on tv and in person

Does anyone know who would make these decsisions, football staff, marketing? I wanted to ask them if they would consider bringing back the block A. I love the matte look, just want that beautiful classic white A

This topic has been brought up in another thread too. We need the "WHITE" block "A" back. You can't see that stupid yellow at all. I'm not sure who you speak to about this issue. Maybe a mass email to the sports department or something.

It will look a lot better about 10:30 tonight!!!!!

I'm a big believer in sports juju. The black block A has bad juju and the white good.

That's more important to me than aesthetics.

But I agree that the white block A looks better and brand continuity is important.

And - as a former coach and still a crazy superstitious sports fan - I would go with the white pants and dump the black pants/white jerseys combo (0-2 with them) ---

Well in my superstitious world we would only switch to break a bad streak - if we are winning we change nothing ---

If white is the answer, Then break out the white helmets ,pants jerseys and hey white shoes.

Maybe if we have the White Block A we can get the plays in on time....or we wont get a XP Blocked.... or the o-line would block...

Get plays in on time = Rob Best and then the Committee == White A's
XP Blocked = Illinois St. = White A's
o-line sucking = last few years of Moore era = White A's

Maybe we should start referring to it as simply the "A".

The word block hasn't been kind to us as of late.

I definitely tend more toward the traditional on uniforms. That said, considered in a vacuum, I don't think the black A looks bad at all. I just think the white A looks great and didn't need to be "fixed," especially given the brand equity. I mean, we're still using it as our primary logo, yet it's not on our helmets?

FWIW, I thought many of the alternate helmets in that photo over the summer looked good. Especially loved the white helmet/black A and both yellow/black Vintage Yosef combos.

Agreed with easthall. I love the black with white block A as the primary helmet, but wouldnt mind the white helmet with black A as an alternate. It looks good on that table of unis

I think a gold (yellow) helmet with the black A would look awesome as an alternate. I like both the white and black A's. I seriously don't know why we need 37 threads about the decal color on the helmets, but as I've posted in the other 36, "if you want to be my helmet decal it don't matter if you're black or white."

I say we need to dump the black A b/c it's cursed. Bad luck last year and this year.

I think the black looks decent but I don't understand why an alternate logo is now on our standard helmet. Bring back the white A.

Bring back the white A as our standard helmet, but maybe use the black A for Black Saturday. I like the Red, White, and Blue for Heroes Day.
