Second Half
In the next three weeks this team will start to execute and really surprise a lot of our fans that are down on this team tonight.
We aren't executing and continue to make mental mistakes, but I saw positives tonight to give me hope for the second half of the year.

Re: Second Half
It's possible. I think the talent is there, but the fundamentals are lacking. Which is to be expected with a young team.
That said, I've read on this board going on three of four years now about the quality of recruits - when do we start seeing the results?

If you can't see how close this team actually is, and you don't have the patience to wait for the team to develop, you dont know anything about football. As is said every year: You have to change everything you do for a week to prepare for that offense. We will get our first SunBelt win next week at home.
Freakin' relax.

Re: Second Half
Yep. We might well have lost to the best team in the league tonight. Sucks that GSU is probably going to win the Sun Belt title, but I think we'll win a few games too.luvyosef wrote:South Alabama, Liberty and Troy ain't Ga Southern. I like App's chances.
And hey, we'll go to the same bowl they do.

The defense is getting a million reps and you can see they have the talent to grow.

The offense??

how will the line get better when the play calls are being exploded by the defense?
Our defense needs some rest , the offense is 3 and out every first quarter or two while they decide which offense to play against the other team
We have had so many blocked kicks, punts, extra points lately, it scares me to watch
Please saint333 tell me what i have watched in the last 14 games that'll change against better competition, i really am looking for some hope.
I am praying its 2004 again

First year in FBS and you'd complain about being 4-3 before the stretch run? Sorry, I'll be fine as a sunshine pumper. Go App!App91 wrote:Great, let's shoot for mediocreluvyosef wrote:South Alabama, Liberty and Troy ain't Ga Southern. I like App's chances.

I seriously think there are some that would rather us be 4-3 in the SoCon/FCS than 4-3 in the Sun Belt/FBSluvyosef wrote:First year in FBS and you'd complain about being 4-3 before the stretch run? Yeah, this team has lots of things to worry about but being 4-3 is not one of them.App91 wrote:Sorry, we will not see 4-3 in the SB. Re: Second Half
Maybe he is referring to our offensive strategy of spotting them the 1st quarter... Oh, wait. Thats every game...GreatAppSt wrote:What offense did we have to change to prepare for Heff?HeffnerIV wrote: As is said every year: You have to change everything you do for a week to prepare for that offense.

Re: Second Half
Agree completely. Mental mistakes and penalties at bad times are part of being young and inexperienced. We have the talent but not the experience. Two empty trips inside the 10 cost us a chance. Southern is on a roll right now with a veteran team, and we were 1 or 2 plays away from giving them a run. On to USA...Saint3333 wrote:In the next three weeks this team will start to execute and really surprise a lot of our fans that are down on this team tonight.

I wonder how many of the fans that are all doom and gloom predicted we would get 6 wins at least? Maybe their expectations were too high as some of us tried to point out.

Re: Second Half
How comes everytime we lose people preach about how good the other team is? We need to face facts, we are 5-11 in the past 2 years and we have lost to a lot of bad teams in that span. At this point we are not a good team. We got killed by a bad Michigan team and there were people on here saying Michigan was better than their 07 team. We lose football games too often now and its not because our opponents are great teams, it is because we are not.EastHallApp wrote:Yep. That being said, we should look much bettef the next three weeks and we should win those games. But if we dont, I am sure that i will read about how great those other teams are.

Re: Second Half
No, they're not a traditional 3-O team, but they run a variation of it that we won't see again this year. Sure, we're unprepared in many ways. But this is a young team with many new starters and they're going to make stupid mistakes playing three of their first four on the road. Our issues are easily fixed since were not stuck with inferior talent. We have the pieces.App91 wrote:You're exactly right Andy.HeffnerIV wrote:Saint3333 wrote:In the next three weeks this team will start to execute and really surprise a lot of our fans that are down on this team tonight.

5-11 is not acceptable.
