Don't want to take many more swings at the dead horse but in looking at USA's starting lineup for Saturday, here is the breakdown :
Offense - 8 Seniors, 2 Juniors, and 1 Sophomore
Defense - 9 Seniors, 1 Junior, and 1 Sophomore
No Excuses ! We need to play for pride while our youth is growing up. Just want to see some of the grit that has surfaced in the past.
Edited the defense as I did originally have 12 but had 11 on offense.

Man, they are really going to lay the wood to us!
Offense-13 starters
Defense-12 starters
Gonna be tough with those extra players on the field!
j/k

Wow, that is one of the oldest starting lineups I have ever seen.
To take it a step further, their second string includes four seniors and 10 juniors. That would mean that of the 44 in their two deep, 34 are seniors or juniors.
They better win this year (not just against us but in general). Have to think they'll have a tough time replacing 17/22 starters next year.

Since USA has only been playing NCAA football for 4-5 yrs (since 2010) that means those were the guys they recruited at the beginning of the process. Would you say they were FBS caliber recruits?

Many are JUCOs, I believe.

Holy crap!
I counted 38 players on their 100-plus roster who started their college careers at somewhere other than South Alabama, either community college, junior college or as transfers. In comparison, I counted nine for us.

I long for the days when we had playmakers that made our offense look like we had extra players on the field.

I do think Satt would build it with HS players but I don't think he will be here to finish. We are going to be better next year but if we don't win another game, a new coach will take control of the young talent.
We are still young but a lot of our top players are juniors and sophomores. We should still be better. The only position where I will fully excuse us usually is WR because we are young but even there we are having drops from some of our experienced guys as well.

Foolish statement.
First and foremost, App State cannot afford to pay a coach to not coach.
Second of all, WR isn't young, it sucks.

I usually try to refrain from posting right after a game, but here goes. There will be no quick fixes, and this team, as seniors, could still be very bad. Youth doesn't excuse getting worse every week. We continue to start slow, and get dominated in every phase of the game. The team appears non-chalant, ill-prepared and shats itself every time it sniffs the red zone. Our kicking game is a comedy of errors.
Liberty will likely celebrate on our field next week, sending a clear message to the SBC- "Why not let us in- at least we're not as bad as them."
I'll support ASU until I die, but this team is just not competitive- period.

I remember when I considered not receiving a first round home playoff game rock bottom.
This is rock bottom.

He will be here until his contract is up, idk why you have been passively calling for his job since before the year but it seems sorta obvious you may have an agenda. Our juniors really aren't too talented, like I said earlier any guys older than true soph are just simply in over there heads with the exception of a couple

It's called the previous staff failing at recruiting and molding talent.

2014 I bet you a one year refrain from posting here that Satt will be the coach in 2015. Care to wager?

Previous staff didn't have any problem molding it into winning seasons.

Previous staff wasen't trying to compete at the FBS level with that same group.

This is true, however, there is something amiss with this same group. I'm convinced that if we had the same schedule as last season the results would be about the same this season.
