We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

What would you do as Coach?

I guess that I am tired of the back and forth of the 2 sides. you are not going to see what I see and I will not do the same. So in light of that, I thought I would start a thread for us to give real thoughts as to remedy the situation.
Mine-
1. If there is anyone who is a red-shirt and can contribute on defense, then burn the shirt immediately and get them on the field. It cannot be worse.
2.Our Backs need to be carrying a FB under thier arm where ever they go all week. To class, to study hall, to the cafeteria or the Bathroom. Learn how to hold onto the FB, it is gold. respect the FB.
3. Demand from my DC that he bring some sort of pressure and play press on the line of scrimmage. We must pressure the QB and get rid of the cushion on the sides. We have made the last 2 qb's who came in look like NFL players because of no pressure. How did we get man coverage on #8? SHould have doubled him from the time he stepped off the bus.
4. Hold open campus tryouts, including both soccer teams, for a kicker. Just need to make about 35 yards, oh yeah and xp's as well.

I totally agree with your items 1 and 3.

1) I don't think we want to wait any longer to pull a red shirt but now we have 2 of our key recruits that are going to see a ton of opportunity and will grow this year. They will be ready.
2) The Defense has been very weak indeed and our scheme is too passive. If I were Satterfield, I'd have my whole team in a meeting room Saturday night after the game discussing how to improve this defense....NOW. I'd incorporate more 4-3 until they get more of the recruits to align with the 3-4. Don't stop working on the 3-4 but they have to be more aggressive immediately or we'll see another QB pass for records on us and continue the slide.

My take is that the defense has to be addressed via the scheme more than anything.

He did that with Benson on Saturday at DE - did it make any difference?

Fumbles can cause any team to lose a game - I hate fumbles ---

Yeah I would like to see more pressure but playing press coverage requires really good cornerbacks - don't think our guys are there yet ---

Kicking is a head game - we do need to get this addressed because I really don't care for one guy handling all duties - even when Sam was a senior he had some problems doing both ---
