walking back my statement...

I said "fire him" out of anger and out of passion but it was wrong...wrong because i'm not privy to the "goings on" in App football nor am I well versed on schemes or play calling. I am just a fan...like everyone here. I have a small business and sometimes we do things that upsets a customer. I don't wake up that morning wondering what I or my crews can do to ruin the day of a customer...things just happen or actually don't happen. Its the same in all aspects and yes, including football. The coach and his staff don't lay in bed at night thinking of ways to screw up a game,it just happens from time to time. It's a game...a brown oblong piece of leather that can bounce any direction...that's it.
Should we be allowed to say we are unhappy and explain it in an articulate manner without expecting the wrath of others on this board? I dunno...I guess if you have an opinion and others disagree then this is where things get discussed and hashed out. I think the problem with this board and many others is that written words have an imaginary power to be taken out of context due to the fact that tone and manner of conversation are null and void. We take offense to words written which should be taken in jest but because the tone is not understood, its misinterpreted and then somebody's talkin' smack about somebody else's momma or sweet tea and bbq and the original discussion about certain nuances flies out the door and stupid cat fights emerge. It just goes down hill very fast.
Is that what we want? I don't...look, a handful of guys know me on here...they like me I guess for the most part but I think it's a sad thing to come on here in order to talk all things App and get in a pissing contest with a guy you don't even know. Before you judge let me say Im guilty as charged. It's a forum that even family of staff and players might read. Thinking that way made me want to walk back my statement. Somebody told me that this was Coach Satterfield's dream job...why should I muck it up for him...I'm just a lay person.

PS...No! This doesn't mean you jackasses from any place other than eastern NC can now think I won't call you out for claiming better bbq...cause that ain't gonna happen. I was taken off the tit at 6 weeks and given bbq(white cole slaw) and sweet tea from there on out.

Still don't think you should retract your statement. IMO the sentiment is correct, but it is a fact that it will not happen now or the end of this year.

Just another week on the MMB after a loss:

Saturday night: Fire him
Sunday: this team is terrible, all of them, time to start over
Monday: you know the offense isn't that bad, now defense and special teams are terrible but we're getting better on offense
Tuesday: two deep is released, I'm looking forward to seeing a couple of these young guys play more that did well last week
Wednesday: Here is what we need to do to be competitive Saturday
Thursday: We may match up well with opponent x in the following areas
Friday: looking forward to watching the game this week
Saturday: I think we have a shot to win

Somewhere in the week a sip or two of moonshine might be in order. ;)

And then Saturday night comes again!

Seriously, let's hope we can start turning it around this Saturday...

It's our version of the 'seven' stages of grief.

No, but I'll take a 12 pack of Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale.

To the OP, it's all good. We will either be in Troy or following ESPN 3 this week like all good Mountaineer children. Better days will be here again...someday. Go App!

Pretty much...
but the offense really is looking better.

I completely agree with your comment and we know Satt doesn't want to loose. I understand what you are saying about not waking up intending on ruining a customers day. I also cannot speak from the perspective of a small business owner. However, being in a large corporation with higher positions above me; I cannot just settle for "off times" and if I am consistently not producing a decent product with little to no improvement I would hope and know my position would be "under review" very quickly.

Obviously I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes but Satt and co. Deserve all attention they are getting IMO. The kids definitely do not, but the coaches should be called out and I hope they are.

I'll speak from being self-employed and I believe that would include other small business owners as well - WHAT THE HELL??? - SETTLE FOR "OFF TIMES" ???
I make ZERO money during "Off times" - SETTLE FOR??? - I'm sure the others refuse to settle for off-times as small business owners - HEY, I BET YOU STILL GET YOUR PAYCHECK DURING OFF TIMES? -
