Some interesting stats YTD.
The GA St. game helped a ton limited them to 62 yards.
Three areas of concern:
All of special teams, we rank in the bottom three in every special teams stat.
Last in penalties, and for some reason opponents as well.
We are the worst redzone team in the league, even after the GA St. game.

Re: SBC Stats
True. We are 2nd overall in offense and defense. Sure some of those numbers are padded by soft opponents but they also include great offensive output from some opponents. I am excited to see this team grow up week after week.

Re: SBC Stats
Those stats tell me that Saturday could be a defensive battle, but one that we can win just because our offense is statistically better than their's by a wide margin

Re: SBC Stats
I think it is completely misleading to get hung up on stats. We are obviously digging out of a hole now and our stats should only get better. A look at the overall yards per game for App and our remaining opponents are interesting. We are in a dead tie with Arkansas St in offense and defense (yards per game). Below are the rankings:
App- Defense (70th), Offense (30th)
Ark St- 70th and 31st
Ul Monroe- 54th and 111th (good sign)
La Laf- 69th and 58th
Idaho- 122nd and 55th
App- Defense (70th), Offense (30th)
Ark St- 70th and 31st
Ul Monroe- 54th and 111th (good sign)
La Laf- 69th and 58th
Idaho- 122nd and 55th

Re: SBC Stats
It would probably be more telling to see stats for conference games only. True we aren't the only team to play weak opponents, but we probably are the only one to play two FCS (including one non-scholarship), one weak G5, and one mediocre P5. Our OOC schedule must have been the weakest in the league and among the weakest in the nation.

Re: SBC Stats
How do you figure our stats should get better with Campbell, Troy, and GS, behind us? How are we digging out of a hole with two shutouts behind us. I may be misunderstanding you.bigdaddyg wrote:I think it is completely misleading to get hung up on stats. We are obviously digging out of a hole now and our stats should only get better.
