Like last year, we seem to play better the second half of the season, providing hope for next year and SS redshirt plan coming together and paying annual dividends beginning season.luvyosef wrote:Good stuff. I had this one pegged as an automatic loss before the season. I think App keeps on rolling and beats the Warhawks.
I think it has more to do with our offensive productivity compared to their lack thereof.Saint3333 wrote:I am shocked at this line. Remember this isn't the prediction of the odds makers, this is the line they expect even money from the betting public.
The line already moved a point. This is likely due to two factors, our scoring the last two games and people seeing the weather last weekend with a LA team coming up.
They've lost four In a row, we're rated higher in Sagarin, and the only common opponent thus far (Troy) was a 2-point home win for ULM and a 38-point road win for App.AppAttack wrote:Wow, that's nuts. No way we should be favored. My how quickly perception can change in just a few weeks.
Maybe we can order up another bit of snow too.bcoach wrote:If they have lost 4 in a row and only beat Troy ( a very bad team ) by 2, we should win comfortably at home.
Sometimes we jump to soon and I may have this time. I went back and looked at who they have played and I still think we can win but maybe not so comfortable. Maybe the Troy game was just a bad day.WataugaMan wrote:Maybe we can order up another bit of snow too.bcoach wrote:If they have lost 4 in a row and only beat Troy ( a very bad team ) by 2, we should win comfortably at home.
Easy coach. I would suggest tempering the expectations. These are the two best defenses in the league, (statistically speaking). Our offense has been rolling the last three games but they were against piss poor defenses, I don't expect us to move the ball as effectively against ULM. With a young team I am interested in how they respond to adversity against a better opponent. ULM is bigger up front so running the ball may be harder. Don't get me wrong, I think we can win but this weeks opponent is superior in talent to what we have been beating up on.bcoach wrote:If they have lost 4 in a row and only beat Troy ( a very bad team ) by 2, we should win comfortably at home.

Glad you said statistics. Our defense has improved but we really should throw out the two shutouts. The first one was against a team that does not belong in Div 1. They would have only a fair record in Div 2. Last game was against a team that just didn't want to be there. They were looking for the bus 2-3 minutes into the game. I have no idea if we could have shut them out in good weather. We would have won no doubt but not sure of a shutout. I am glad though that we are playing some really bad teams this year as it is helping us build, and build confidence.AppSt94 wrote:Easy coach. I would suggest tempering the expectations. Actually I can't agree. I think they are as good as we are at this point. Now that may change by seasons end but at this point I think we are pretty close to equal.WataugaMan wrote:Just like our day with Liberty.bcoach wrote:Sometimes we jump to soon and I may have this time.
