Burnes
Burnes
How about Stephen Burns playing almost the entire game at nose tackle and getting it done. A lot of guys played well in this game, Cox, Lamb, meaders, the O line, but I was really impressed by Burnes. It's hard for one guy to stand up for the whole game at nose tackle in a 3, 4, defense.

Re: Burnes
I thought Burns had gotten hurt too, but saw him come back in towards the end which was a sigh of relief.
Fernandez looked to have landed hard on his wrist. hopefully it's not broken and he can play next week.

Fernandez looked in alot of pain, he looked really hurt, hope its just a minor injury, but it didn't look good.

Re: Burnes
Tyson got cut-blocked when he was half-down and his elbow bent the wrong way. Hopefully nothing's broken, but he was in a sling and wrapped up at halftime.

Re: Burnes
I have thought Burns has gone unnoticed for going on 3 seasons now. NT in a 3-4 is pounding work. And the down and distance situations he has played in has changed over those 3 seasons. I love his energy.

Re: Burnes
After Tyson went out and Small came in. He got pushed around on one play pretty bad and the ESPN guys made some smart A$$ remark about him being a 3rd string and that happens to 3rd string guys. Not sure if anyone else heard that.YesAppCan wrote:Small played, alternating time with Burns. Small was #54.

Re: Burnes
Burns did play well, luckily we had a huge TOP edge and didnt need to rotate him out much. The guy on defense to me that blew up play after play was Blair. It wont show up in the stat sheet but he altered at least 6-10 plays with pressure or blowing up the original hole the play was intended to attack. He was an animal.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!
