Cox, a 5-10, 200-pound sophomore who became the first Appalachian running back to top 1,000 yards rushing in a season as both a freshman and sophomore, was much of the reason.


“It’s fun to hand the ball to him and watch him running over dudes,” quarterback Taylor Lamb said. “He’s a horse. He doesn’t look like a horse, but he’s a horse.”
