Turns out Deshaun Watson does have a torn ACL after all - playing with a brace but will have surgery after the season.

That means they plan on waiting until after their bowl game (a very poor decision IMO), which could potentially affect his availability or effectiveness early next season.

I don't know if it is a good idea to play him or not. The doctors said that with the brace there is no risk for further injury. Worked out well today.

Never quite know how these guys come back from ACL... See Jamal Jackson.

On top of this, OC Chad Morris is leaving for SMU job.

He will undoubtedly miss spring ball and may be limited in fall camp. If he has a new offense to learn might work in our favor.

I was hoping we would get to play against him. He was high school teammate of Devin Stringer, so that would be a fun matchup to watch

Even if no additional risk of injury, playing him in the bowl game means delaying his surgery - and thus his rehab - by a month or more.

Later surgery means no spring ball with a new OC.
