I am assuming Stepp to SMU.

Chad Morris, new SMU HC was Stepp's mentor at Clemson. He deserves this and I wish him the best. App will be fine.

Dang this sucks. He was a great recruiter

I don't think so. He just finished a long season and probably hasn't been home in months. I think all he means by that is he's ready for the semester to end so he can.... go home lol.

I hope you're right. This will be a buzz kill for the receiving corps when they would still be riding high from the great season. I'm not worried about defections per se.

Agreed. Just stinks to lose him to a fellow G5 school with no football tradition this side of the 20th century.

yep, welcome to the world of FBS, still, SMU? The program is a dumpster fire, and your looking at multiple years before respectability, I would have thought he could have landed a better job if he just waited alittle longer, anyway, not surprised he is leaving, just thought it would be to a better, more established program, wish him the best, appreciate everything he has done for us, now, SS go find us a quality replacement.

They are definitely a dumpster fire but they have more money than they can spend. Plus, you know Stepp has faith in Morris turning it around.

I was going to post in the other thread that stepp was the coach I thought had the best chance of getting hired elsewhere and the coach I least wanted to leave. He's performed magic on the recruiting trail. Hope we can replace him.

Gotta do everything we can to keep Ledford now. He is our main play caller and has transformed our OL in the past few years. App State will be fine.

With news about UAB, the WR coach will be looking for a new job..

How many of us as freshman looked forward to going back home for the first time from school with great enthusiasm? Only to find in a week or so you were looking forward to returning to Boone with great enthusiasm? Bet he's back with bells on.

SMU is ideed a dumpster fire, but they're going to be paying Morris $2 million a year. Compare that to whatever we're paying Satt now and Stepp should being increasing his paycheck by approximately... a lot. Sorry to lose him, but I wish him luck.

As for his replacement... How about Trey Elder?

At least this finally broke. I heard it was possible as soon as Morris was hired and then was told it was happening. Most of the targets are listed and I have in my personal notes most who came so if any offers go out I've got the info. I wish Coach Stepp nothing but the best and now it's time for us to go out and find a great new WR coach. Nature of the business.
