satalite camp with Nebraska
satalite camp with Nebraska
found this article where App, Nebraska, and Valdessa St. have joined forces and will be running a series of football camps in the Atlanta area in June. These Satalitte camps are becoming a popular tool by the larger schools outside the south in an attempt to recruit in SEC country. To state the obvious, SEC schools are pissed since their conference will not allow Satalitte camps. Will be interesting to see how these camps benefit App.

Link?
Thought those were banned years ago after Greg Schiano made heavy use of them taking Rutgers into South Florida.

I know we are working with Valdosta State, but I thought Nebraska was teaming up with Georgia State.

Re: satalite camp with Nebraska
found it under bleacher report, titled until there's a National rule, CFB Satellite camps will hurt SEC Schools. only mentions us in one line, but it lists us involved with 5 of these camps. I had never heard of this, but its really interesting, the SEC and ACC are prohibited from participating in these camps, while conferences like the Big ten have no rules against their schools "guest coaching" at these smaller schools in the SEC recruiting grounds, and using those smaller schools to get a foothold in what traditionally has been the recruiting grounds of the SEC. Predictably Saben is upset, and wants the NCAA to address this. Interesting stuff.

Here's the article: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2439 ... ec-schools
A lot of SEC coaches are whining about it, since the SEC doesn't allow them to "guest coach", but they don't mind the advantage coaching in the SEC gives them to recruit in California, Texas or anywhere else in the US. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2144 ... lite-camps

I'm pretty sure this isn't this first year our coaches have worked at other camps. I believe I've heard them reference other camps in the past.
