Football Game?

Unread post by fjblair » Sat Sep 29, 2012 6:30 pm

Where is the discussion about today's game? I want to see comments, analysis and nutty thoughts regarding the win. Where did everybody go?

Nothing much to bi#@h about, so probably not much conversation. Always need to be able to call for some heads to roll to get a good thread going!!

How about this>

App looked great for 4 quarters. We crushed CC.

Video feed, which I pay $10 per month for, once again sucked.

Unbearable sound quality. I have watched other schools streams on occasion and have never seen a problem elsewhere.

I have been in Internet software and infrastructure businesses since the mid 90's. It's not hard to do this.

Do you send in a ticket when you have problems? That does not guarantee a quick fix but it let's them know of the problem. The audio was terrible, like a busted speaker, but it was fixed at the start of the 3rd quarter I noticed. I sent in a ticket at kickoff. And why are you paying $10 a month for 3 or 4 months? Just pay $65 for the entire year and get basketball, baseball, and even the every popular field hockey.

Yes, I sent in a ticket and the response I got suggested that I didn't have the latest flash and i.e.

I always have updated software - problem was at the source somewhere.

I only pay for goasu.tv during fb season. Listen to hoops games (audio only).

Actually, I am a l little upset now, because I did not even get a response from the ticket I submitted.

Do you have to pay for 3 months or four months to get all the football games? That would be cheaper if you don't care to watch anything except football. And I can't fault you for wanting to save a little money.

No, I get the 4 month deal, and I know it doesn't really equate to $10 per month, but I hate paying for something that doesn't work.

I watch lots of streaming from Netflix, Hulu, ESPN3, WRAL, etc. - and I have never problems with anything except for GOASU.tv

I don't really watch other NeuLions feeds from other schools except when they are piped through GoASU. So I don't know if other schools have problems as well, or if even the piped through feeds are messed up by GoASU when that happens.

I wonder if we are in some sort of "non-sweet" spot with subscriptions that are not enough to get an upgrade on infrastructure, but we have enough demand to need it. I don't notice as many problems during volleyball and field hockey, which I am willing to bet big money has a lot less demand.

No, because it was fixed at half time.

With the game in hand and with audio problems some may have stopped watching the game and the demand on the servers went down and then the quality improved.

I am not really sure how all this works. Are the servers in Boone, or some spot away from Boone. Are the servers NeuLion's or ASU's. What exactly does NeuLion provide for us? Software, hardware, both?

I am not 100% happy either, don't get me wrong. I do think it could be done better.

Good stuff. I liked what I saw on the internet feed when it was working. Honestly that neulion or whatever it is generally sucks,
