With the completely unexpected win at home against ETSU in baseball, we are officially in the off-season (when looking at the big 4 sports). Now that we can collectively begin to recover from the 'shine binge associated with this year's baseball campaign, we have a whole summer to sober up and ponder what lies in wait for us this year in Appalachian football. Here are the top 5 things that we can look forward to as 2015 Mountaineer football approaches.
#5 - Improved Special Teams

Guess Dexter Jackson isn't back for another season either?

On offense, I'm looking forward to seeing how well D. Harris does at protecting Lamb's blindside. If he's able to step in and fill the void left by K. Lamm, this offense could be scary! He's got some big shoes to fill and hopefully he's up to the challenge.
On defense with Middleton, Howard and Gibbs in the secondary, I'm interested to see who wins the job opposite of Gibbs. There seems to be at least one playmaker at each level of the defense and shoring up the loss of Ross would go a long way in making this defense nasty. I also want to see if Woody draws up some different schemes to let Stringer loose with his speed and quickness. He could end up being a thorn in a lot of opposing OC's and QB's side.

this offense, barring injuries is going to be one of the best, if not the best in the SBC, it is going be nasty. You guys mention Nate creating plays to use Stringer, could make the same argument for Boggs, he had a great yr as a freshman, that kid showed he has the ability to play for almost any program, how Wofford and App were the only two schools to offer him a schlorship still amazes me.

If Harris isn't up to the Challenge I have a feeling Nunn will be our next option at LT. Who takes his place at RT would be the big ? then.

Gossett to RT and Counts to RG maybe. My guess would be Painter after that.

Kerry was a good one on our O-line. I miss his dad on the board here too.

Remember Boggs was a big baseball guy, and decided late to go with football. He didn't attend any football camps until after his Junior year, but still had offers from several schools including the stink. They never made it official because he wouldn't visit there.
