Which Bowl Game Do You Prefer?
Out of possible bowl games we could play in this year, which one would you prefer? I say the Cure Bowl since it's the closest to NC AND we could have another shot @ beating the Pirate Pussies (aka ECU).

The New Year's Day bowl that the highest ranked non-BCS team gets!

Agree on the Cure Bowl (although the Camellia is actually the closest). Best location, best opponent tie-in, good-size stadium that hosts one of the biggest bowls outside the NY6 group. Only downside is that it's televised on a channel that many people don't get.

1) Peach (obviously the best)
2) Cure (Disney and vs the AAC)
Purely based on destination:
3) NuAwlins (Bourbon St)
4a) Austin (cool music city and vs the AAC)
4b) GoDaddy (Mobile...stay 1 hour away in Biloxi or Pensacola)
6) Camellia (Montgomery)

The Cure Bowl would be awesome, although most Georgia Southern fans seem to think they have it locked up before playing a single game. The Montgomery Bowl would be closest for me but I plan to go to whatever Bowl App is selected for.

Cure would be great. Great location for fans, families and the team experience. A TON to do in the region. You can't beat it for the pure fun of it all. Peach.. nah... ATL... Been there in bowl mode years ago... wasn't a great team experience for the week. Anything FL based is usually great.
Color me nuts.. but Montgomery AL? I just don't see that place a fun...

I'll color you nuts since you said "nah" to the best possible bowl we could be a part of. And out of curiousity, how would Atlanta not provide a "great team experience"?WXAPP wrote:Cure would be great. Great location for fans, families and the team experience. A TON to do in the region. Re: Which Bowl Game Do You Prefer?
The Cure Bowl would be the best all around for App fans as it is close enough to drive and Orlando has more attractions than any where in the USA. The weather would also be the best more times than not. Camellia would be #2 for me due to being within driving distance for most of our fans. After that the New Orleans, GoDaddy, and Austin are all about even as each city has good attractions and all require a flight.
Of course the Peach Bowl would be my absolute #1 as it is an access bowl within a very short drive for App Nation. Beat Clemson!

Was your Peach Bowl experience with your Dad in the 80's? If so I'd imagine having things like the College Football HOF and Aquarium would give fans much more to do these days.WXAPP wrote:Cure would be great. Re: Which Bowl Game Do You Prefer?
Look, the Peach Bowl could be played in the Walking Dead version of Atlanta and it would still obviously be the best by a wide margin. I think most of us can agree on that. Well, I guess as long as we're at it, the CFP would actually be the best result. But I think the OP's point was to rank the five bowls with Sun Belt tie-ins.

Re: Which Bowl Game Do You Prefer?
LOL.. You mean ATL has changed since the 80s? Truth be told, wasn't much of a fan of that city when I worked in S.GA for a number of years. But fiiiiiiiiine..... A bigger bowl is the Peach...
Oh yeah.. that peach bowl with the old man was a hoot... FSU kicked our ass all over the place.... I was ready to get on the bus at halftime... So it goes...
Centennial Park wasn't around, the aquarium wasn't around etc... the inside experience, at that time, for coaches families, and players... wasn't great... but yeah.. ATL has changed a ton. As above.. Fiiiiiine... Hell I'd go to ATL to see the Mountaineers play. Closer than O'Town.... but not nearly as fun... just my two cents... (sidebar.. anyone else like to see the FoodLion... Lion attack at the end of one those commercials?)

Re: Which Bowl Game Do You Prefer?
If App went to the Peach Bowl, it would be as the top Group of 5 team, most likely against a top ACC or SEC team. Also, it would be worth millions of dollars as a New Year's bowl. Way more than any Sun Belt tie-in bowl.
