Nothing groundbreaking, but it is always nice to see someone take notice.

Coach Scott Satterfield is an intense competitor who does what all good football coaches do, he gets the most out of his players and has installed a winning attitude among those players and those directly associated with the program. The former Appalachian State QB was a home run hire for the App State program
Glad we didn't run Satt out of town like many suggested only 10 months ago. I hope we all learned something about giving a coach time.

What, is that bum still around.....all the credit should go to Everts, she got here just in time for the late season turn around. ONce she got here and figured some things out....WhaLa, success...Satt had nothing to do with any success of the program....

The only redshirt we burned last year was Meadors. Everyone else who was a freshman was already in the rotation, some just moved to starting positions like Stringer and Boggs.

Don't want to mess with your memory too much

but the only shirts we pulled after the season started were Meadors and Benton. We all know what Meadors did. Benton was available for 4 games before being removed from the team but only had stats in the South Alabama and Troy games, 4 total tackles with one TFL. Not exactly season changing numbers. Of the HS kids in the 2014 class Boggs, Barbour (see below), Gibbs, Howard, Hopkins (see below), Lewis, Exford (see below), and Stringer (see below) all were listed in either the Michigan or Campbell games to start the season.
Barbour was listed as a starter for both Michigan and Campbell but was hurt. Listed as a freshman for this year so it looks like he has gotten or is still trying to get his medical.
Exford was on the participation report for Michigan but no others. Still listed as a Fr.
Hopkins was on the participation report for Campbell but no others. Still listed as a Fr.
Stringer was not on the report for Michigan but Woody said from camp that he was going to play and he appears on the Campbell report.
Edge-Campbell, Caruso, Greer, Fuller, Harkness, Stout, Cathey, Sigalio, Godwin, Armstrong, Boyd, Painter, Malone, and Moore are all RS freshmen. Walton, Noil, and Benton are all gone off the roster and only Benton had any game time. And to round it our Ford and McGuire were JUCO's although Ford is a Jr this year because he had three years left after receiving his medical.

What was Taylor Lamb's status at the start of last season. Regardless, the younger men turned the season around. Good to have them back this season. Looking forward to kicking some butt this season. Go Apps!!

Lamb was class of 2013...not 14'. He used his redshirt in 13' so he was Bryant's backup at the start of the season. Caruso was our only RS QB last year. Once Hallock was injured we were one hit away from maybe having to pull JP's shirt but fortunately it didn't happen.
We had several true freshmen playing from the start of the season and once the lightbulb went on we saw the results. Good coaching decisions on both sides including changing up our O from a true one back multi spread to more of a read option/pistol look and adding blockers to the backfield. Plus our guys on D, freshmen and upperclassmen alike, getting enough experience to fully embrace the 3-4 were big parts of the turnaround. And we'll see even more improvement when we get some reps for all of the guys that kept the shirt on all last year. Big things ahead.

Not only did the young guys on D have the light bulb come on, but Woody also let them loose to be more aggressive. I'm sure that was a tough decision for him to make as coaches tend to be more conservative with young guys. It was fun to watch as everything just clicked all of a sudden. I'm hopeful it clicks in week 2 this year.
