Does anyone else experience significant problems with their browser when they visit this site?

Seems like the ads and video on the right side are always slow to load and I always get some sort of error and my browser comes to a crawl.

All plug-ins are up to date and it happens NO where else, i.e. the other app boards.

I use two browsers. Mozillla FireFox and Google Chrome. Chrome handles the ads here ok, FireFox is totally overwhelmed by them.

I use Google Chrome with the Adblock extension and I have no issues at all if you guys want to give that a try.

Hey - thanks for posting this. 89 has mentioned it was happening to him at home but not at work and it was the only thing I've heard about slow loading since the server upgrade and site fixes back in the Feb/March time frame. I use Chrome as well and don't seem to have the same problems (and I'm on the most basic internet package the company offers on a 6 year old laptop). I'll get to working on this immediately and see if I can help speed it up.

Not that it matters but I use Chrome with AdBlock and other than having to hit the x once in a while to stop the page from trying to load I don't have any other issues. But I do with IE and Friefox.

I use Mozilla but I have ABP and NoScript. I've never seen the videos or ads that you guys are talking about. This site has never given me a problem with loading.

I mainly use an iPad and iPhone. I just got a new iPhone last week, and still have the same problems on safari of needing to log in every time I visit the site. On the phone, I often get sent to another website, before it sends me to an app screen (it happened in the store, so the phone was as good as it would ever be). I have no issues on other sites. Needless to say, it's diminished my time on YC, which might be a good thing for me.

Oh, and the site is as slow as molasses on a January morning in Boone.

What is the purpose of the 10 ads on the bottom? That is a tremendous amount of ads taking up the load times.

As I have said before, if it's to cover the costs of the server, I run a Web hosting company and will be more than willing to offer free hosting in exchange for taking the ads off

I constantly run performance tests (example below) showing that the site loads well - 93% faster than all websites that have been tested. I'll continue to work on the site to try and make it the best experience for everyone.

I also use Chrome and rarely have problems with loading. Actually I don't think I've had any since the update was made.
