Upshaw and Cox

I would like to see Upshaw and Cox in the backfield at the same time. It would throw the defenses off guard and would create an unique situation for run and passing options.

They would create damage.

Satterfield tried it during the first six games of 2014.

I love Marcus Cox, but I feel we use him too much, and their time should be about 50/50 in the backfield - Upshaw is such a friggin beast.

I agree. Upshaw is a beast.

after seeing Boyd and Moore in week 1, I think we have several beasts for years to come.

My only concern with Upshaw is his ball technique once he gets into space. He has a tendency to flail his arms and not tuck it away. Luckily we haven't seen him get a ball punched out yet this year.

I have a feeling that Upshaw will get plenty of touches this season. I agree that we need to spread it around. Cox is a better receiver out of the back field, and runs better in open space. Upshaw seems to be stronger and does great in short yardage situations.

I was a little disappointed that Upshaw seemed to fade at the end of his long run Saturday. If he hadn't run out of gas, that would have been a TD run...although we did score on that possession. I can certainly forgive it though because he runs with such power.

We are luck to have both of these guys! This is the best RB duo we've had since Settle / Sanders. Yes...I think as a tandem they are even better than KR & Moore....and that's saying something!

We are four deep at the position, I did not make as many games last fall as I wanted to. So the combination was not as productive as I projected?

I agree the long run would have been a TD, had he not ran out of energy but he flat out knocked down two Clemson DB's on back to back runs.

Once Ferguson is healthy again, we're actually 5 deep at RB. That's hard to believe!
