Former App murdered

Unread post by scatman77 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 12:55 pm

PICKENS — Legendary Pickens Blue Flame football coach Bill Isaacs and a friend, Dickie Stewart, were gunned down while walking on North Homestead Road Monday morning, and a 64-year-old neighbor has been charged with two counts of murder.

A native of Lenoir, North Carolina, Isaacs lettered in basketball and football for four years at Lenoir High School. As a sophomore and junior, he also played baseball and ran track.

Isaacs attended Appalachian State University, where he played center and middle linebacker for the Mountaineers’ football team.

Coach Isaac was also a member of the SCACA Hall of Fame. He had taken over at Pickens in 1965. Sad news.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Scat, that is a sad commentary on American neighborhoods these days. Two older guys out for a morning walk and some fresh fall air--gunned down by their neighbor? There must be a back story here somewhere.

God's Peace to the grieving families.

Apparently, there was an ongoing feud between the killer and at least one of the victims.
