We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Woody at it again
If this keeps up for the remainder of the season, App will be Sun Belt Champs, bowl bound and looking for a new DC at the end of the season. Maybe Satt can make a play for Mike London after UVA fires him.
Picked up via free agency by the High Country All-Stars
Re: Woody at it again
I said when we hired Woody that if he stayed more than 3 years it would be a huge bonus, the guy can really coach, and is showing he is one of the best DC in the country. When he leaves its going to be a sad day in Boone, and SS is going to have a real hard time replacing him.

Re: Woody at it again
May be wishful thinking, but it seems like Woody would've had chances at a head gig before. I wonder if he even wants a head job. It'd be tough to pass up the money at this stage in his career, though.

Re: Woody at it again
This is exactly the reason we need an Athletic Coaching endowment. To ensure we can be competitive with coaching salaries. Top P5 or NFL, probably not. But other G5 and lower level P5, certainly. We need to do everything we can to make it difficult for coaches to leave, and it doesn't have to all be monetary, though that is a big factor. The good thing about Woody, unless he has head coaching aspirations, he came up under Ayers who made a living at one place - hopefully some of that rubbed off on him. Perhaps he and SS can do the same at App. The biggest key though, we shouldn't treat them any less because we "think" App is where they always want to be. We still need to put the $ where our mouths are a and competitively compensate.

Re: Woody at it again
In my opinion, if woody had no head coaching aspirations, he would still be at wofford. The fact that he moved on when we moved up shows his interest. Hopefully we have a plenty of people paying attention to what he does and can find a replacement very similar, should he move on. Would hate to get a new coordinator who changes up our scheme and we have to rebuild with the right type of athletes to fit the new scheme again

I don't see a lot of pressure on the qb but they swarm and attack the line of scrimmage and the ball carrier maybe as good as I've ever seen.is this his scheme or the result of the 3/4 defense?

I don't think that's proof he wants to be a head coach. We gave him the chance to do the same basic job at double the salary. The Rock wrote:In my opinion, if woody had no head coaching aspirations, he would still be at wofford. Coaches get plucked all the time. Let's just see where our team and D are after the regular season is over.

Woody is a loyal guy and has to get buy in from his family to leave App. If he moves on, it's because he deserves it and his family agrees it's time but his track record is to stay.

Only played three games and just one team had a good offense. Let's see how things progress against GoSo, ULL & Ark St. I do like what I saw at the end of last year and at the beginning of this year. S & C Coach is paying HUGE dividends. Our LBs, DLs & Safetys are physical!!!

Re: Woody at it again
Just to be clear, I don't think it a bad thing if he is trying to become a head coach. If you can improve your career path, and income no one can blame you for leaving, as long as you do so in a professional manner.
I do hope he can stay at App for a long time though, I think he is on the right track and really helping our program

Re: Woody at it again
I think if Woody wanted to move up to DC at a P5 school, it wouldn't be too hard, if the defense keeps performing at such a high level he will, in all likelihood, have numerous offers when the season ends, but if his aspirations are to be a HC at his next stop, then, I think that's a much harder thing for him to achieve, atleast at the P5 level, odds he would probably have to drop down to a FCS school, or a lateral move to a mid major FBS school. Regardless, I hope we can somehow hold on to him for atleast 1 more year.
