Sr. and Jr. JUCO WRs?

Ok, where are McGuire and Letman? I heard McGuire had a three game suspension for violating a team rule. That should be over now. Don't know what the deal is with Letman. Is he having trouble with the playbook? I expected to see at least one of them on the two deep this week given Lewis and Capel are injuried. Where are these guys on our depth chart? When will we see them on the field? Sure would like to see three or four 6'2" and 6'3" receivers (Jones, Meadors, McGuire, Letman) line up in a spread formation once or twice a game. Also think the really big WRs (McGuire and Jones) can help us block downfield when we run the rock. Please advise, thanks.

The three-game thing on McGuire was stated and repeated a few times here, but I'm not sure it was ever officially reported as such. Not saying it was incorrect, but I think we might have to wait in suspense until Saturday to see if he dresses and plays.

I wonder the same thing about Letman. Must just not be as far along as hoped. We've got plenty of slot receivers, even with the injuries, but we could use more size on the outside.

Looks like Lewis is out too. I guess we will see Barbour and Hopkins grow up some on Saturday. However we still have Bobo and Sims (although he may be limited to prevent further injury). Also, it will likely be raining and will probably see a heavy dose of running like last Saturday with an occasional pass to Meadors, a slot receiver or Jones.

Hope to see McGuire out there Saturday as he is one of our best outside blockers we have. Hopefully he learned form his mistakes and moves forward.

If the forecast holds this could be a 10 pass day by Taylor. Probably just dump offs and short passes in the flats. If that is the case we just need sure hand guys. Probably not much stretching of the field. Could be wrong- wouldn't be the first time this afternoon.

I would like to see Mykelti Armstrong in the mix too. I guess he must not look too good as he has yet to see the field.

I think everyone is missing or forgetting one thing, since I've yet to see it mentioned. Coach Watts is a big, make that HUGE, believer in blocking. Given that Satt has stated that we are a run first team and JW talks about downfield run blocking and blocking in general, if you don't or aren't willing to block up to expectations, then you will not play. End of story. And at the start of the season we had enough depth to make that stick. Now with the injuries I expect to see some additional players get more of a shot but they had better block like crazy or they will be playing very limited time.

As for McGuire it looks like he will play when Satt feels that he has served his punishment and not until.

I remember hearing some good things about him during practice. Was looking forward to seeing him play too.

Great news on McGuire. Run and pass game just got better.

Montez is a big body receiver who presents tough match ups for the opposition. Glad that he has served his suspension and is ready to contribute. I remember seeing him make some great back shoulder catches against both Ark State and ULL last season.
Reminds me a little of what we used to do with William Mayfield back in the day. :D
