Re: Video of GSU press conference
Wow the coach mispronounced our school's name in his opening statement. You think someone involved in the athletic program there could of helped him there.

Re: Video of GSU press conference
Don't know why their coaches are talking so much about their "success" stopping the run.
They gave up 207 yards on a 4.7avg. Sure Marcus Cox only got 76 yards, but he also didn't play in the 4th quarter.
I guess when you play as bad as they do, any shimmer of hope seems like success.

Re: Video of GSU press conference
You guys are being way too picky. This is the first Sunbelt coach from a team we beat soundly who gave complete credit to us. He said they prepared for the pass but couldn't execute. His comments regarding our rushing attack seemed to be mainly focused on Marcus. And he qualified those statements by saying something like "at times we contained him, etc." Aside from his mispronunciation of Appalachian he's a pretty classy guy; at least in press conferences. I hope he's around for a while; not sure he will be though.

Miles will not be around for long.
He has 1 or less wins in 4 of 7 seasons as a head coach.

I agree he comes off as a really classy guy. It's just really poor form for THAT athletic department for someone not to tell him how to pronounce our school's name.mikeyosef wrote:You guys are being way too picky. Basically I'm just looking for new ways to have beef with Charlie Cobb.

That's where this got. It was supposed to go in the "Lordy" thread. Oops.

Re: Video of GSU press conference
Here's where I am with the whole mispronunciation. People do it who live elsewhere all the time and I used to care, but really don't now. But, as for anyone in the conference they should never get it wrong because it is written in all the media guides and it shows lack of respect.

Miles has said ap-phu-lay-shun for over two years now. He's doing it on purpose.
