Wow.. what a game (just getting my feet back under me after that long game). Glued to our seats for that one. I'm happy we won, and I'm OK with it being an ugly win. I think we'll be better served for having gone through what was a tough, tough game.

My props to Troy for one of the BEST executed onside kicks I have ever seen in all my years of football. The subsequent play was a master stroke that gave Troy the TD and took the App faithful out of the game for a few moments. I mean wow. One could feel the oxygen being sucked out of THE ROCK. As in awe of that series as I am, I'l say it wasn't a pleasant feeling to experience.

While I know critics are out there wagging tongues, the only toe I'll dip into that water has to do with getting the damn defensive play in and those players set. That no huddle offense was put to good use by Troy. Coach Woody, son, you need to get on it and get that play in ASAP. It was frustrating to watch a 'fundamental" lagging.

My two cents folks, not going to bash or rip apart our guys. I think they are now well aware of the things that must change for the coming games. Nothing like this sort of game to help people stop believing their own hype and press. It's a growing process this FBS stuff. If you want "end of the season" play, then stick to the task at hand and keep both eyes on the current road.

We gave Silvers, their QB, way too much time in the pocket and he was mostly throwing strikes. Good looking kid back there. On the other side of the ball, Lamb was continously harassed in the pocket, and couldn't find open receivers. What was going on? Were receivers not getting open? Give Troy credit, they probably played their best game of the year, on the road, as a decided underdog.

Agreed. This is another team whose record doesn't show how strong and capable they are on a given night. I'm not sure we "needed" this, but maybe in the scheme of things, we did. It's nice to learn valuable lessons and still come away with a "w". Last night showed that we have no automatic wins or breaks in our schedule. Hard to believe that our "easiest" game left might be ULL. The challenge for the coaches and team is to maintain a high level of concentration and intensity for each game left on the schedule. Beating Ark. St. is critical because they DO have a significantly easier schedule.

Taylor Lamb looked like he was hurt towards the end of regular game play? Or was that just me...? Seemed we had a different team playing during the overtime. Troy was tough, tough, tough.. man if they keep going, they will be right in the thick of it each year. That's a dangerous program waiting to get traction.

Taylor was limping. Hopefully just a bruise.

Hope Troy still has a little gas in the tank in 2 weeks when they travel to Stinksboro. QB Silvers could have a field day against their secondary!!

Was an exciting game to watch and a very rewarding win. I'm always mindful of the fact that the other team pays no attention to "the Vegas odds" and they practice their guts out and prepare each week to win just like we do. Congrats to Troy and their team for a hard fought battle and congrats to our boys for finding a way! Proud of Matics! Go Apps! Lets get ready for Thursday night's war!!

I talked with Taylor after the game and he said he was fine. Saw on Twitter earlier that he was watching the Women's volleyball team so I think he is fine.

I noticed in the first half that Lamb kept shaking his right hand after each play. There was one wobbly pass that he particularly seemed to have trouble. I could not tell if it was the thumb or the wrist bothering him.

As for the second half kickoff, in the first half I mentioned to the guy beside me that there was too much space to the right side that was open for an onside kick. Still can't figure why the back coming over did not signal for a fair catch (that would have slowed the kick team down). Players are taught that from middle school on.
