Coming off an emotional win and potentially looking ahead to the next big night game, any win is a good win. A lot to learn from and we might have needed the reality check. Still feel we are the best in the belt. Time to get back to what we do and Beat Ark State!

Long time reader, first time poster... my biggest take away from this game along with the Clemson game (I was at both) is that Taylor Lamb was the perfect "transition" QB for this team, but this team is advancing faster in the FBS than expected. Lamb showed me he cant take our offense to the next level, he was terribly indecisive last night and in the Clemson game.
He is good enough to finish out the year and maybe win a bowl game, but Satt needs to make a tough decision this offseason and bring this offense to the next level.

i'm hoping this win kick starts another dominate final stretch run the way our win against ULM did last year. both games were tough, hard fought wins that came down to FG's. funny coincidence that we play Ark St this week. we also played them the week after our ULM win

Yeah he sucks alright. Who would you like? Jameis Winston? Marcus Mariota? DeShaun Watson? Are you kidding me right now? You make your first post ever to essentially tell everyone you don't know much about the quarterback position. I love posters like you who think we have a 5 star qb hanging around waiting for Satterfield to call him. Lamb has far exceeded expectations. He's good enough to win out and win a bowl game but Satterfield needs to get a better quarterback back there? That makes all kinds of sense.

You completely missed my point. Im saying that our team is further along in our FBS growth and it is becoming clear that Lamb is going to be a piece that holds us back. Im not some "whiney poster"... im a die hard App Alum who bleeds black and gold. Ive only missed a handful of games in 15 years and if you can not see that Lamb was indecisive in tough games, then you do not know anything about the QB position.
Im not posting here to be in some petty back in forth with anyone, I want to talk App Football with others who follow the team as closely as I do.

What level do you expect to reach that Taylor can't achieve? We have a top 25 offense. We have won what, 12 of the last 13. We put 44 points on the board yesterday because we had to. Our defense had an off day and we won like many of the teams ahead of us in the G5 rankings do each week. Please go troll somewhere else.

He offered an opinion and no where did he say we had a 5 star hanging around. I personally think Taylor has met expectations, but to say he has far exceeded them is a stretch. The o-line is banged up and it certainly affected the qb play yesterday but Taylor knows that he has to step it up going forward because Daniel David will challenge for his spot.

Damn dude, I'm sure he's got someone better riding the bench, you can enlighten the MMB with? Not sure better than Lamb is in the pipeline yet or graduate HS yet, that kind stuff takes time if your name isn't an Ohio State or Alabama of the football world and they don't consistently do it either. To be sure Satterfield is playing is best at every position with 7-1 record, he only has millions of $$$ and his job riding on that. Are you part of the can the Satterfield party of over a year ago?

Wow. I guess I made a mistake in thinking this is a place where we can have an intelligent conversation. I am not "trolling" this board, im simply pointing out something a lot of App faithful are seeing. If you reference my original post, I like Lamb, he was a great FCS to FBS recruit. However, I have noticed his increasing indecisiveness in the pocket when under pressure. Im simply looking to have a conversation on where this team can improve to solidify their place as a top G5 school.

Thank you proasu89. This is what I was looking for. I hate talking about other QBs on the bench, and by no means am I calling for a change. I am just concerned over what I have seen from Lamb when he has faced tough pass rushers. At Clemson, I thought it was just the level of competition, but last night, I saw a trend. In fact, it is not all on Lamb, losing Nunn and not having confidence in your line can hurt a QB`s confidence. He held the ball too long and did not run when he could have and did not find receivers when they were open. It is only two games where it has been really evident, but those two hanes were our biggest tests so far.

I love Satterfield and I am definitely not one of the many pessimists who have posted over the past few years. As a student, I sat through some tough years before Richie Williams showed up. I just think our team is progressing faster than expected and Lamb may not be able to keep up with that pace.

I hate that my first post on here came off negatively. I love this team and I love the "are you crazy" responses. I want my App brethren to lift me up and say Lamb can get it done. Being "good enough" will never.be good enough for me. I will never boo a student athlete, but I will expect greatness from anyone who wears the Black and Gold.

We put Lamb in a pretty tough position and in my opinion he's done an amazing job. He had a tough game...it happens. Would everyone please stop looking to the bench to see who's next? We did that for 3 years in a row (ahem, Presley, Jackson - not to mention the "start Cadet as QB" crowd) and the lack of continuity hurt us. Try showing some confidence in the players we have.

Two TD passes and two running TD's. From a soph. Quarterback and people are complaining.

Clemson has one of the top defenses in the nation, and yesterday our revamped OL had some issues which is to be expected when you lose a player like Nunn. Not to mention our play calling seemed very predictable for large portions of the game. The kid is 13-4 as a starter and should likely have had 2 more wins last year. It's going to take an impressive showing to take the job from him.

That is a ridiculous statement. Being good enough is never good enough for you? YOU expect greatness? YOU are a guy who sits in the stands and hopes the kids win. they are 18-22 year old kids and THEY are the ones who should strive for greatness. YOU are a spectator and nothing more. Your critique of Lamb is short sighted. He is a sophomore and his team is currently 7-1. What exactly do you mean the team is moving too fast for Lamb? Again, you will have some people on this board who are down on Lamb and will back you. I just don't get why you are borrowing problems our team doesn't have. You want the backup to play who doesn't even exist.
