AP Top 25 Week 10 - 1 Nov 2015

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Sun Nov 01, 2015 2:20 pm

Lost 2 points in the AP poll, but if I added correctly we moved up one spot. I have not bothered to find out who voted for us and who changed their vote that was voting for us.

Just to be mentioned alongside Duke, State Penn, Boise State and BYU is an accomplishment in itself.

Dave Reardon out of Hawaii ranked us 22nd. Last week 3 voters ranked us each 23, 24th and 25th. When I saw 4 points Was hopeful we had 4 voters rank us 25th this week, indicating we brought a new voter to the table. Instead we Lost 2.

After the performance yesterday, I am actually surprised we received any at all.

On another note, we did pick up 1 vote in the coaches poll this week.

I have to agree with AppDawg, I am very surprised we received any votes at all. We need to count our blessings...Hopefully, this is a wake up call for our guys. If so, it can literally be the best thing that could have ever happened to us...GO APPs!!!

I got to say, I was so excited about this last week, and was watching the scores of anyone just in front of us. My thoughts were, getting into the top 25 would be such a great recruiting bump. After last night, I don't think we need much more attention on being ranked. With our performance and injuries, right now all I care about is winning the conference, what ever happens after that is great. Really bummed to hear about Nunn.

We probably missed an opportunity this week. Georgia was ahead of us, and they showed they had no business receiving any votes. Pitt and Duke lost at home. Somebody had to get the votes they lost. That's why "style points," margin of victory, whatever you want to call it - does matter.

But of course, all things considered, it obviously could have been worse. At least we're still on the radar.

East I have raised that question on a few threads (style points). At least we didn't drop after a win which would have been crap. Thursday night is huge. Even another close win would not hurt us I think. My hope is that Clemson wins out and wins the NC, and Troy continues to win and beats Stink. I am not of the opinion necessarily that Troy is "much better" than their record. I think they are slightly better but I am more inclined to think that they just played out of their minds Saturday and that we got too conservative with our defensive calls.

Our destiny is in our hands, win out and they will have to rank us in the top 25.
