Attendance fix

Just my opinion but moving the game start times to 2:00 will help with keeping the stadium filled longer . It would also help with overall sales.the people traveling from Asheville,Charlotte and even Raleigh will still have decent time after game is over to get home . Just means if you want another hour to tailgate hen get up an hour earlier.does ESPN dictate this or not?

Television dictates the time.

One network to air them all, one network to dictate times,
One network to show them all and in the ratings bind them.

Translation and apologies to Tolkien: ESPN gives us as members of the SB some money and they dictate day of week and time of day for football.

Just seems ridiculous that ESPN 3 would need a time schedule already bush league enough

At least the announcers of the game were good. Dave Weekley was on the play by play, I like him

That is not going to fix the attendance problem. It will not ever. Two things do that. 1. Winning season after season. 2. Weather

It wouldn't perfect attendance but it would help no doubt.

I would agree with you. It is a legitimate question why a game, available only on the Internet, can't be scheduled at an ambiguous time.

Most home games started at 2 before 2004. Attendance immediately improved in 2005 (before winning the championship) when kickoffs were moved to 3:30.

Even online streaming has time slots. They hope that people will tune in to particular games during specific time slots. They also don't want too many games over lapping same as TV. ESPN 3 is also only provided through certain cable providers and many times only if you pay for the TV cable service as well as internet service. There are contracts right and left that dictate when everything is shown. In the end most of our entertainment in this country is now owned by a mouse.
Please watch this all the way as it explains how our entertainment world works.....

I like the 3:30 starts early in the year but would favor 2:30 mid to late October on.

We have a relatively young fan base and the later kickoff allows many to attend morning kids sports activities and still make it to Boone for kickoff. That's precisely what we did when my boys were young

I think you're arguing the preference of a few over the (call it tradition) of the many.

You're arguing that maybe a thousand people who would find a 2:00 kick more convenient to their individual schedules would attend more, but ignoring the people who drive in from farther away who need the 3:30 kick to get there in time.

When we're winning people who want to be there will be there no matter the time.

I said yesterday the commentators for the game dressed up as Troy fans for Halloween.

It's doesn't matter what time we kickoff, it's always going to be less convenient for somebody.

How about letting fans leave at halftime and then come back in.

Build a dome over the stadium. That will take the weather out of the equation.

A dome worked out so well for ETSU that no one showed up and they killed football.

The university did the research and the 3:30 kick time was found best for attendance. Winning will be the best remedy for attendance. It will also help when folks start knowing what we are playing for. Currently most fans have no idea how we stack up in the conferance and what that means for possible bowl games. A conferance championship game will also help. In the "glory years" people knew that winning the conferance meant home playoff games. It help build importance into every game. Most fans have no clue that we could play in the Peach Bowl. I will note that I see the students coming out and that's a great sign. They even rushed the field after the win on Saturday. Keep winning and start communicating what winning can lead to.

Play more attractive home games OOC. Not have two Thursday games so close together. Not give us a home back loaded schedule because it's cold in Boone late in the season (Sun Belt). Win. Bring Back Black End zones. Put ice in beverages. Fix the sound system. Less music from the speakers, more music from the band. Not conveniently broadcast it for people to watch at home, and save money. Decrease the price of hotels in Boone.

Did I miss anything?
