Locker Room Material

Unread post by WataugaMan » Sun Nov 01, 2015 7:37 am

From the Arkansas State Board:

"Well it doesn't appear that the ole Appy hillbillies are quite ready to be crowned like some of you tried to do. Their defense got exposed tonight. Hope we take notes. They looked pretty bad"

"If we can play a complete game to our full potential on both sides of the ball then we could possibly wipe the floor with them. We have the talent. We are our own worst enemy."

Okay Apps, what's it going to be, going to show up to play Thursday or not?

Just remember, according to them we didn't beat them last year, injuries beat them.

Nothing said there that isn't true. No need to post this in the locker room. If the players and coaches don't already know they need to make adjustments, then we are in trouble.

If we play Thursday like we did yesterday, it might be a long night.

Agreed, adjustments needed. And, do their talking on the field. That is, through good play not personal fouls and such. Penalties are out of control.

I'd post it to remind the players for the rest of the season......and I'd post it in the coaches offices!

Arky State fans sound like displaced Gumroots from east Georgia. I noticed they had a real easy time with Georgia State.

Often times it takes getting knocked off your high horse, typically with a loss, to remember that hard work, focus and dedication is what got you to a high point in the first place. Hopeflly, that won't be the case with this group. Hopefully the message was sent and recieved.
Apps, you have a neon target on your back and you better come to play everyday. And the coaches need to get a handle on disicpline. The pentalties looked like a HS JV team. Total let down by the entire program, but escaped with a win. That's going to happen with good teams. Hopefully, that team from the first half of the year shows up Thursday because the team coming will also have a target on us and they're a better team than Troy. (Except maybe at QB. WOW.)

We got lucky plain and simple. We got beat on both sides of the ball. Pass defense was a problem again. But here is where we are really lucky. Taylor can still walk.

Guessing that poster was too busy watching us to notice that they struggled to beat the mighty Panthers.

I watched the replay of the stAte GaState game on Apple TV. They looked pretty good. #23 McKissic WR is a real threat. Gotta get the pass D ready.

Not worried about stAte unless they can figure out how to hold the football.

They were losing in the 4th quarter to Ga State and they have the nerve to call us out for a close game? What an idiot.

Id call us out too, fumbles are correctable. We have a lot to correct and yes injuries are mounting.

Identifying an opponents weaknesses is one thing and being able to stop it are another. We showed the conference how to stop Georgia Southern, but if you don't have the personnel to do it then it is a moot point.

After their game against Georgia State last night, they have no room to talk. The Panthers had them on the ropes for most of the night, answereing every play they came up with. It wasnt' until the 4th quarter with some luck that they got a 2 TD lead on them.

The point is that their fans hubris is misplaced and/or misguided. They should be concerned about their own performance instead of ours. I watched their game - they have plenty of weaknesses that can be exploited.

I think both App and A-State probably looked toward Thursday's game a bit but it happens. Troy played with a "nothing to lose" attitude and really played well, Ga. State probably did the same against A-State. In the end, the better teams did prevail while being given a ice cold glass of water to the face-wake up call. It should lead to even a better game Thursday.

The defense held their ground, the whole team was down a little. The last game with Southern was emotional. Saturday was a classic trap game, but one that we won. Thursday will change everything and App State will be ready. Carry on

Used to have a yearly "one we should have won but lost game", we avoided that one. I agree WV, App will be ready come Thursday.
