### We hear UM football is close to finalizing a deal to play at Appalachian State (Boone, N.C.) next season, with the teams playing a game at Sun Life in a future year. Appalachian State, a member of the Sun Belt Conference, is 7-1, with its only loss to Clemson. UM’s other 2016 non-conference games: Florida A&M, FAU and at Notre Dame.

First off... WHAAA!?!

Second- have written on this board before that we should call them. They've played at other SBC teams and don't draw well at home or on the road anyway, so they probably don't need a huge block of tickets. BUT, they have a fair number of fans/alums with summer/retirement homes in the area.

Third - I assume we'd buy out Central?

I think we could swing that :D Plus it would open up an opponent for Coastal as they are scrambling to fill out their schedule because of Big South teams dropping them.

The vindication for moving up just gets better by the day! I hope it happens. 2 P5s in a season is more than we're used to, but bring it on. We would shatter our attendance record.

Growing up in South FL as a canes fan this is a dream matchup. Hope its true, if so, my family of four will book flights from Denevr the day the schedule is released.

Wow ! Tennessee on the road and Miami at KBS. What a season this could turn out to be in building our fan base back up ! If Doug Gillen can pull this off, he is one crafty AD. :o

I suspect, if true, that ODU moves rather than central in a 3-7 legged (multi team) ESPN assisted deal. ODU will be 3-5 years out like Wyoming/So Miss. Maybe ODU-Coastal becomes part of that.

Miami is already playing Florida A&M that weekend. The 17th is open and it's where we play Central. If this is going to happen that would be when it does.
