Dale Taylor Flyover Thursday Night

To honor the service of Lietenant Commander Dale Taylor USCG (ASU class of '99), there will be a flyover (if the weather holds) after the national anthem. He was killed in a helicopter training accident in 2012. His wife Teresa was an ASU cheer leader, and he loved App football like the rest of us on this board. I'm sure his two sons will be huge fans as well! This is a small article about his wife's book about their life.

Great! I've been waiting for something like this since Cobb stopped the parachute drops. Too bad it has to be a result of one of our own's deaths. Commander Taylor's family should be proud of us honoring him in such a way. I hope and pray there is somehow a crowd of 30K cheering in KBS! Goosebumps just thinking about it.

As a retired Chief Petty Officer of the USCGR, I am extremely appreciative to our University for honoring Commander Taylor. Semper Paratus.
Also, my current supervisor (by the way, I'm a civilian employee now), Commander Barbiaux served with Commander Taylor in Mobile.

In 2012 we had two flyovers. A helicopter and a c-130. Anyone know what kind of aircraft it will be this time?

That's one of my all-time favorite App football memories. It cleared the trees just as the nat'l anthem ended, circled Howard's Knob then flew back over. It was epic.
My condolences to the family.

Carrying the game ball and one with the American flag, if I recall correctly.

This was the flyover for Dale Taylor back in 2012. It was an H-65 out of Savannah GA. The pilots were friends of Dales. My wife posted this to YouTube.
This was the C-130 flyover that year as well. It was a tribute to Maj David (Boone resident) who was killed in the NC Air National Guard C-130 crash in Montana fighting wild fires.

If I remember correctly, the C-130 flyover was on Black Saturday in 2012 versus Furman. That was very exciting, can't wait for the flyover on Thursday.

Veg, I love ya to death but the FCS vs FBS is done with. For the love of Appalachian we all need to move forward TOGETHER.

I haven't mentioned the "fight" in a long time... Just let me be stubborn in my own silent way
FYI... I did remove the pic from my signature portraying my disdain for bowl games... So there HAS been a compromise

What did veg posting that pic have to do with the FCS-FBS debate? Seriously.

Not that I was being anymore than tongue-in-cheek, but it was ribbing him on his signature.

Don't get me wrong, I love flyovers especially since it's to honor a fallen alum but am I the only one wondering why we're planning a flyover at night instead of doing it this past weekend during the day when the spectators can actually see the flyover?
