I saw this posted a few places. Personally I would like the Cure Bowl for travel and city purposes.

I agree with you, it would provide the team with a better opponent as well. With a possibility at UCONN, Cincinnati, or ECU if they can win out.

Any ideas on pricing of these packages?

You can go to the official website of each bowl and they give prices for open seating. There a a lot of reserved blocks, but I'm guessing the costs are comparable. For example, the Cure Bowl tickets range from $22-$170, depending on seating area. I'd like to go to Orlando because of lower flight costs and I can always hit up Disney!

Cure Bowl - Yes
The other 3 no. Won't go to New Orleans & more trips to BFE Alabama is not worth the cost and time right before Christmas.

I'll go to any of them based on the fact that it is our first Bowl game. All are pretty easy to fly cheaply to from ATL and Mobile, Orlando and NO are fun places to go. Montgomery does nothing for me but it is an easy drive from ATL and there are at least a couple of good golf courses in the area.

Getting to games in Alabama is much easier for you in Atlanta than for us in Boone. I just don't see many App people going if its not New Orleans or Orlando.

Everyone does realize we aren't going to have a good turnout for a bowl, right? None are in close proximity and there's not enough interest in our bowls to travel that close to Christmas. We will probably pull 6 to maybe 8k for a bowl game. Especially if it's against a western Michigan type team. Sad, but true.

Bowls pick teams that they think will bring a lot of fans. If we don't turn out for this game, we may be passed over for games in the future.

I am in for any 1 of the 3 Dec. 19th games. Come Hell or high water. I've got a dejected ECU fan coming along for the fun, and working on a Pitt fan to fly down from Pennsyltucky and join the party.
While I know I could get better seats from the bowl organization or StubHub (trust me that's always the case for any bowl), I will buy through the university.
For bowl games it really matters, buy your tickets from Appalachian

If ticket prices are close to ours on Stub Hub then I will go through App. If there is a significant difference, considering I would have to fly and hotel cost, I would have to go the Stub Hub route.

It will be our first bowl game so anyone saying they won't go to a certain game due to the city is nuts. It's one thing if someone can't afford the trip, but saying Montgomery doesn't have enough attractions is a lame excuse. How many people went to Chattanooga for the championship games because they city was so fun? I doubt anyone.

You have every right to do so, but you will be doing so knowing that your actions could lead to App not being selected to a bowl game in the future.
For the general forum of fans here - if you can't make the bowl game but want to support App football, buy a ticket for the game through App's ticket office. The bowls aren't going to care how many fans we bring, they care how many tickets we sale. Is the system screwed up, absolutely, but those are the rules we are currently playing by.

Simply can't go this year... Missing two Fridays for work due to Thursday night games has put us a bit behind...
Plus... other than the Orlando local there's nothing I would "fight" our budget to go to.

In reality, the place tickets are purchased doesn't really matter. ASU will be required to sell a specific number of tickets regardless of the bowl we are chosen to play in. Tickets that are not purchased by ASU fans must be purchased by the athletic department.
