Re: Welcome to Boone Mark Richt
By way of results on the field I hope he feels VERY unwelcome. I hope that I look up at the scoreboard at the end of the game and know he NEVER wants to come back here again.
I know but this board is mostly about dreams so let me have mine.

I was hoping they would have hired Mario Cristobal,
Satterfield vs. his former boss from FIU.

I'm happy for Richt. Had some unlucky injuries to his RBs at UGA, but should have no problem bouncing back in the ACC. Won't have to go far for recruits being in Miami.

Re: Welcome to Boone Mark Richt
Anyone else think that the Miami game might get bought out now? Richt might can pull strings others couldnt to get a home game. The fan base would be super happy about it.

Re: Welcome to Boone Mark Richt
Richt was the lead speaker at a FCA event held at my church several years back. He did a great job and seems like a good guy. Told a funny story about his time as a QB in college and in the pros. Said that when he went to Miami he figured he would be the man until he had to compete for the starting job with some guy name Jim Kelly. Then he got a few shots in the NFL, first at Miami but had to sit behind some guy named Dan Marino. He was persuaded by his agent to try again in Denver but had to deal with some guy named John Elway. At any rate his story was quite funny. Hope he does well, except for one game.

I think that would be silly, but even if they did I would be fine with it as long as they bought out the whole series not just our home game. You can pay me a large lump sump to be on your schedule for a few weeks. That's just good business.

Re: Welcome to Boone Mark Richt
Richt is a class act and I've always liked him. I think he was a bit over his head at Georgia but he will do very well at Miami. That said, I don't think Miami has the horses to run Richt's pro-style offense without ramping up, so their turn around is probably not going to be like flipping a switch.
Richt has a healthy respect for App and has a history with Jerry Moore. I don't see him coming in and trying to buy out the game.

I'm sure you are completely fine with that but I see where you are coming from. I think it would be bad regardless of the buy out. We would be stuck with an open date again that would undoubtedly be filled with a crappy opponent. That would be a huge loss for us.TheMackAttack wrote:ASUTodd wrote:Anyone else think that the Miami game might get bought out now? Richt might can pull strings others couldnt to get a home game. Where is the connection. What gives him that respect. Not a challenge just a question. I really don't know anything about him other than the coach at Georgia.Yosef84 wrote:Richt is a class act and I've always liked him. Re: Welcome to Boone Mark Richt
Mark Richt and Jerry Moore were "friends" at least on a professional level. JM was a regular speaker at Camps that Richt was leading and my understanding was they had ongoing contact. I know they were both active in the FCA speaking world. Just second had info on my part though.bcoach wrote:Where is the connection. What gives him that respect. Not a challenge just a question. Re: Welcome to Boone Mark Richt
If....IF......there is a buyout (and I sincerely hope not) then we better get a 7-figure amount that makes our lost revenue tolerable. I could see 35-36K in KBS, if not more with the "U" rolling in. With Richt at the helm and this reputation there could probably be more.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Bought out.....
And replaced by what?
One of the reasons for the series was due to need/supply and demand. Did any of those change?

Yes, Richr was hired as coach, and as my original post eluded to.... he would be able to pull strings others couldnt.
