Matics is SB Special Teams S-A POTW

Unread post by firemoose » Mon Dec 07, 2015 11:56 am

I know there is a thread about field goal kicking but thought this one deserved it's own. Twitter reports are saying Zach has picked up his third Student-Athlete Special Teams Player of the Week award. No surprise after his performance Saturday but, as others have pointed out, this is a GREAT comeback story after his injury and struggles last season. He's going out with a bang as a Sr and will be getting looks at the next level. Congrats to Zach on showing the true grit and grinding it out during the off season, working hard to recover and improve!!!!! GREAT JOB!!

Zach has been a difference maker for the Apps this year. He needs one more big game in Black and Gold.

He needs to consistantly get his kickoffs thru the endzone if he is going to get a serious look

True that. The current NFL kickers are clearing the endzone from the 35 with relative ease and consistency.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

I don't know how many NFL teams are like this, but the Falcons use their punter to kick off. Field goal kicker only kicks field goals.

The Bears would probably take him today.

Martin kicks off for the Lions.
