Re: Daniel David to transfer
That stinks. I was really looking forward to what he could do. His hs hug lights were awesome and reminded me of AE. Was looking forward to the competition between him and Taylor and JP in the spring/and fall camps. Best of luck to him.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
Not surprising. Got up here probably thinking he would take the starting job and was redshirted and sees Taylor is probably the starter for 2 more years

Re: Daniel David to transfer
No inside info or anything, but I'm wondering if we may not see him on the other side of the field next year. I could see him going back home and playing for Georgia State with their QB graduating. Best of luck to him.

He'd have to sit out next year, but it's a possibilityasucrutch23 wrote:Not inside info or anything, but I'm wondering if we may not see him on the other side of the field next year. I could see him going back home and playing for Georgia State with their QB graduating. Best of luck to him.

I am sure with part of Satterfields release stipulations he said Daniel can't transfer to a conference opponent.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
Tough loss for us, as we're still struggling to build a little depth at QB. I know Easter came here for a shot at QB, but I was hoping/anticipating he might switch positions. Might be tough to do now, plus of course he's coming off the ACL injury.
But that's why you take at least one QB every year I guess. They don't all pan out.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
DDavid was looking at perhaps a dead-end job barring unforeseen major injuries to TL and JPC.
I wish him well unless, and until, he lines up against us somewhere down the road.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
Not surprising but is disappointing. Really important that we keep Zeb Noland on board now. I believe he will be able to start classes at App in January.
Re: Daniel David to transfer
not surprised, but disappointed, wish he would atleast tried to compete next year, and perhaps move up on the dept chart, seems to me he gave up early, and didn't put up much of a fight to move up the depth charts, makes you wonder if, once he got to Boone, he realized being a mountaineer wasn't for him. Anyway, wish him the best of luck.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
I thought he'd get his shot after Lamb graduated and maybe beat out JP for the starting position.
That would have been one year later than he will be able to start for any other FBS program.
Every QB coming in from now on will likely have to redshirt and wait at least one year to start if he recruit well.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
A lot of QBs at this level commit to smaller schools because they're promised an opportunity to compete for the starting QB position early. We may have had an idea Lamb would be really good but not as good as he is. And obviously Caruso is better than David or David would be our #2. It just didn't pan out. Wish him luck.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
I personally expected a QB to transfer but figured it would be Caruso considering he probably won't play until he is a senior.
Now if Caruso bolts as well, we are in trouble.
Hopefully Zeb hates his Iowa State visit.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
Anything can happen but don't be surprised if he shows up somewhere completely unexpected and that has very little to do with football playing time.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
If he is homesick and wants to be close to home he is pretty limited, assuming Satt nixed a Sunbelt transfer to Ga State or the Stink.

Re: Daniel David to transfer
I know he was close with one of our other commits that flipped to Syracuse -- Kielan Whitner. Perhaps up to NY?
Its all just speculation on my part right now. But either way, wish him the best of luck!

I would be surprised if he were the last. Don't we have about 4 more fr QBs
